As Billboard points out, Dylan (real name: Robert Zimmerman) was born Jewish. There's a long and storied tradition of Jewish performers recording Christmas jams, including Neil Diamond, Phil Spector, and Irving Berlin. There is not, however, a long and storied tradition of canonized counterculture legends recording Christmas jams. Bob Dylan: Still finding ways to shock people!

Maar Bob Dylan is niet zo'n instapalbum. Inmiddels weet ik het erg te waarderen, maar als je nog nooit Bob Dylan geluisterd hebt, knap je er misschien op af. Dat risico lijkt me met latere albums minder. Iedereen houdt van Like a Rolling Stone.
