Well, we're only a couple of weeks away from the release of MIKA's fantastic new DVD:
'Live At Parc Des Princes' which will be released on 10th November.
The DVD captures a very special day in July this summer when MIKA played his debut stadium show at the Parc Des Princes in Paris on 4th July. With a sell-out crowd, MIKA put on a show that even had the likes of Kanye West admitting that the bar had been raised. MIKA stormed the show with a supporting cast that included flying clowns, tap dancing astronauts, a 100 foot Chinese Dragon, can-can dancing Big Girls amongst others. Utilising the talents of some of the world's top design talents including Opera designer Es Devlin who created the stage settings; Christian Louboutin who created all Mika's shoes for the show and British designer Matthew Williamson who designed a one off silver jacket for the opening number Relax.
Here's MIKA himself on the subject:
"Hey guys, I write from a studio in a nondescript concrete building in Los Angeles. The recording is three weeks in and it feels great to be out of demo phase. As many of you know we've been working on the DVD for the Paris show and its now finished. I've had a blast making this and hope you like it too.

The DVD captures the show in full including a new track 'Rain' and a host of additional features such as an exclusive behind the scenes documentary about the day itself along with other bonus material.

Sowieso staat Rain er op 
Qua muziek zullen het veel dezelfde nummers zijn, qua show toch wel wat verschil.... In Amsterdam was het in elk geval van de zomer 1 groot circus en dat valt op die eerste DVD van hem nog wel mee! Wel een steengoede show!
Dus tja muzikaal weinig verschil denk ik... Maar goed niemand wordt verplicht hem te kopen natuurlijk

Nee dat snap ik ook zeker, maar vind het beetje aparte actie van ze. Had t logischer gevonden als ze dan bij wijze van 3-4 nieuwe nummers erop zouden zetten en nog 1 of 2 gastartiesten ofzo.

Oeh leuk! De eerste dvd had ik (nog) maar niet gekocht omdat ik het vermoeden had dat daar niet zoveel show in zat, dus ik ben wel blij dat deze uit wordt gebracht. Met Just can't get enough
Maandag! Maar of hij hier dan al te krijgen is? volgens bol.com had ie een release van 7 november... misschien morgen toch maar even stiekem in de winkels neuzen
Groot nadeel: op mijn allebei de DVD spelers enkel zwart/wit beeld en een FBI warning. Als ik hem via de PC afspeel is dat niet. Dan is het beeld goed. Maar ja toch balen dat ik niet gewoon languit op de bank ga kijken. Ben heel benieuwd of meer mensen dit probleem hebben. Heb dit echt nog nooit gehad. En mijn DVD verzameling is grooooot

Hm NTSC is toch zo'n universele eh dinges? Volgens mij heb ik wel NTSC dvd's die het wel doen, laten we het hopen.. Heb bij de FRS en Mediamarkt gekeken en nog niks gezien

Ik ben er inmiddels al achter dat er ook gewoon PAL is dus wellicht een foutje van Universal. Ik ga maandag wel even terug naar Van Leest want wil hem ook gewoon op mijn TV kunnen kijken. Heb hem nu wel gezien op de PC en het is wel helemaal super geweldig hoor.

Hm, misschien ook eens kopen. Hoewel ik die eerste dvd ook nog eens aan moet schaffen. Misschien binnenkort eens op de platenbeus te Utrecht kijken, ik vond die versie in boekvorm wel leuk eruit zien!
Ik heb mijn geld terug gehad van Van Leest. Was duidelijk een foutje want die jongen wist niet eens dat ze NTSC dvdtjes verkochten Helaas hadden ze geen andere dus ik bestel hem maar gewoon via bol.com want bij de andere winkels zag ik hem ook nog niet liggen.

leuke DVD, ik vind de documentaire over hoe dit concert tot stand is gekomen ook erg leuk.

Hele leuke docu idd, gaat nog aardig wat werk in zitten.. Zo'n show lijkt altijd zo vanzelfsprekend op de een of andere manier 
Ben ik echt de enige die het NTSC probleem heeft? Ik kan hem wel gewoon op pc afspelen maar dus niet op mijn dvd en tv dan heb ik zwart wit beeld en kleine blokjes. Heb hem nu via van leest, bol.com en nu via de PAL link in de mika nieuwsbrief, maar ik blijf ntsc ontvangen. Dus ik hou de laatste nu dan maar.... Maar ik blijf het raar vinden. NTSC met nederlandse ondertitels.
Pas voor een leuk prijsje Mika's eerste dvd op de kop kunnen tikken, in dat leuke boekje ook nog.
Maar wel raar dat ze die tweede in NTSC hebben uitgebracht. Dat is inferieus aan PAL en bovendien is PAL dé dominante vorm van tv hier. Of maakt dat met LCD en Plasma geen reet meer uit tegenwoordig?
