Actress, model, presenter, and singer Brigitte Nielsen was born in Rødovre, a little place near Copenhagen in Denmark. Brigette is an actress, model, singer and presenter. She left home to start her modeling career at 16 and worked with designers like Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace, and Gianfranco Ferré in New York, Paris, Milan, and Berlin. She married Danish musician Kasper Winding in 1983 with whom she had her son Julian. In 1985 she was in the movie Red Sonja with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Nielson and her husband divorced. In January 1988, she met football player Mark Gastineau with whom she had her second son Killian. In 1990, Nielsen married the Sebastian Copeland. She recorded another album called "I'm the One...Nobody Else". In 1992 after the end of her third marriage, Brigitte met Raoul Meyer and married him in December 1993. The same year her third son Douglas Aaron was born. Brigitte acted in more films like: The Double 0 Kid (1992) (V) with Seth Green and Wallace Shawn, Fantaghirò 2 (1992) (TV), and in the erotic thriller Chained Heat II (1993). During this time, she also worked in European television and in 1995 and gave birth to her last son Raoul Jr. Ayrton.

Brigitte divorced her 4th husband, and lives in Milan, Italy and the USA. She continues to act in films like: Codename: Silencer (1995), Snowboard Academy (1996), Hostile Environment (1998), and Doomsdayer (2000). She has also recorded more dance music singles: "No More Turning Back" and "You're No Lady". She ran again for the general election in 2006, however on October 23rd of that year, she announced she was dropping out of the California governor's race to be with her ailing mother, hospitalized in Florida since jumping off a four-story building the previous month.

She has also said that she hopes to run for a major party (perhaps the Republican Party) nomination to be President of the United States, which is, of course, contingent upon her reaching the age of 35 per the minimum age requirement for United States presidents. The first election for which she would be eligible would be the 2016 presidential election.
In December 2006, Carey sought a trademark on her name "Mary Carey", to which the singer Mariah Carey has filed a motion of opposition, citing the possibility of confusion between the two individuals. Mariah was denied and the name was granted to Mary.

In July 2007, it was announced that Mary Carey will be the official hostess for SwingFest 2008; World's largest Swingers Party and Lifestyle Convention

Recently, Carey unveiled plans to auction off her autographed, recently removed breast implants for charity. The size 36-D implants were taken out and replaced with larger 36-DDD's and while under anesthesia she realized they could be used to raise money for breast cancer research, a disease in which her grandmother suffered from.

She made her WWF debut on February 16 at In Your House choking Marlena. Her original role in the company was as Chyna, the laconic bodyguard of Triple H and later D-Generation X.

In January 1999, Chyna was the #30 entrant in the Royal Rumble, becoming the first woman ever to enter the contest.

In late 1999, during her long feud with Jeff Jarrett, she had a match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Jarrett, which she lost. Laurer has modeled for Playboy; the first issue in 2000 which featured a pictorial of her was one of the five best selling issues in the magazine's history. In 2002, following her departure from the WWF, Laurer also appeared in a Playboy adult documentary, entitled Joanie Laurer Nude: Wrestling Superstar to Warrior Princess, which followed Laurer on-set of her second Playboy nude pictorial.

In early 2005, Laurer appeared on The Surreal Life, with house mates Da Brat, Jane Wiedlin, Adrianne Curry, Christopher Knight, Marcus Schenkenberg, and Verne Troyer.

In late 2005, Laurer signed to star in a new movie entitled Illegal Aliens, Anna Nicole Smith's last movie before her death.
