De tv, Melvins, Fantômas, Butthole Surfers, Torche, Isis, PORN, Rahzel, Neil Hamburger, Squarepusher, Meat Puppets, Bohren Und Der Club of Gore, de sfeer (Britten zijn best nette festivalgangers), de locatie (het festival was een kruizing van een speeltuin, bungalowpark en rockfestival... aan zee!) en de omgeving. Zelfs de heen en terugreis waren gaaf.

Maarja de hoogtepunten in mijn geval waren: de 2de set van de melvins de 1ste set van de butthole surfers, de dirtbombs, white noise, en alles wat tcm al noemde.

Ja, ze hebben het zo ongeveer overal overgenomen in de periode van 2 december tot nu, maar vooralsnog niets dat ook maar als een vage bevestiging gezien zou kunnen worden. Vreemd genoeg lijkt Jan Smeets het erover gehad te hebben op de radio, toch niet iemand die maar iets roept om het te roepen, maar ik kan die uitzending nergens terugvinden... Leuke nieuwtjes, 10 feb komt de nieuwe Zu uit 'carboniferous' met medewerking van Patton en King buzzo. Hij is veel meer recht door zee dan ander werk van zu. Maar het rockt als een gek. Volgensmij zitten er wat tracks op waar je patton hoort sputteren tegelijk met te sax en dat klinkt erg gaaf.
Ook komt er later dit jaar een cd uit op ipecac van de Zu Dälek bigband dat moet ook wel iets aparts gaan worden

SAN FRANCISCO - De Amerikaanse rockgroep Faith No More gaat weer optreden. Komende zomer trekt de groep, die elf jaar geleden uit elkaar ging, langs verschillende podia in Europa. Dat heeft de woordvoerder van bandleider Mike Patton maandag bevestigd.
De alternatieve rockformatie, bekend van nummers als We Care a Lot en Epic, werd in 1982 opgericht. De band was in de jaren tachtig vooral berucht om de gevechten die de muzikanten met elkaar hadden.
Vanwege de matpartijen werd zanger Chuck Mosley ingeruild voor Patton. In 1998 gaven de bandleden, die elk ook aan eigen projecten werkten, er de brui aan en gingen hun eigen weg.

nast het hete FNM nieuws is er dus het feit dat Mike de soundtrack voor Crank2 geschreven heeft. En geen daarvoor 6 maanden aan geen enkel ander project gewerkt heeft.
Aangezien hij tijdens vorige tours van FNM "pranzo .." en "adult themes .." gemaakt heeft verwacht ik hierna wat nieuwe wazige sh*t (met betere opname apparatuur)

Pelican was na Australasia al niet meer boeiend. Isis was ik al een tijdje zat, en het optreden op Roadburn vorig jaar heeft dat gevoel alleen maar versterkt. Al zal ik dat nieuwe album vast wel even checken.
