London, England (BANG) - Kiefer Sutherland will be a guest at this summer's memorial concert for Britain's Princess Diana. The star of hit TV show "24" is to make a speech at the Concert for Diana, which takes place at London's Wembley Stadium on July 1.

The star-studded concert will be held on what would have been Diana's 46th birthday and marks the 10th anniversary of her death.

Diana's sons Princes William, 24, and 22-year-old Harry personally selected the impressive line-up for the musical extravaganza.

Performers include Sir Elton John, Take That, Lily Allen, Kanye West and Will Young. The concert will also feature Status Quo and Roy Hodgson from '70s band Supertramp, two of Diana's favorite bands.

The first 22,500 Concert for Diana tickets sold out in minutes of their release in December, and a further 10,000 tickets were snapped up just as fast when they went on sale in April.

The event will be broadcast all over the world.

Proceeds from the concert will go to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, homelessness charity Centrepoint and Sentebale, which helps Aids orphans in Lesotho, Africa.

Jack Bauer hasn't gone to the bathroom in six years. Killing terrorists also has kept him from supermarkets, bars and bedroom romps. Next year, though, the makers of "24" are revamping the show. It's about time they give him relief from saving Los Angeles.

So here's how I think Jack's next 24 hours should go: a day off. The following takes place between 8 a.m. Christmas Eve and 8 a.m. Christmas Day.

8:00 A.M. Jack wakes up next to Chloe. "Hi, snooky bunny," he says. Chloe says, "Don't kiss me yet. I have puppy-dog breath." After some action, Chloe scrambles eggs, while Jack rifles through her iPod for a song that's not by Elton John or Coldplay.

9:00 A.M. Jack makes a list of all the people he's tortured harder than necessary. He finally goes to the bathroom for the rest of the hour, calling people on the list to offer amends. He realizes he's out of toilet paper and deodorant. "Damn it!"

10:00 A.M. Jack realizes all his clothes have bullet holes in them, and they're bloody and out of date. He drives to a shopping mall that is oddly only three minutes away, the exact length of a commercial break. He buys a knit cap he'll never wear. "I wonder if I'm a bandana guy."

11:00 A.M. Since Jack's phone always rings when he's sneaking up on bad guys, he spends an hour figuring out how to turn his mobile on vibrate. Considers new rate plan.

12:00 P.M. Jack drives to Starbucks and is amazed by all the people using laptops and mobile phones. "Doesn't anyone talk to each other anymore?" The 17-year-old girl behind the counter flirts with him. The 17-year-old boy who makes his caramel macchiato flirts with him. Later, he wishes he'd left a bigger tip.

1:00 P.M. For lunch, Jack meets his new literary agent, who wants him to write a tell-all, but Jack doesn't want to compromise the government, so he offers to pen a children's book about a terrorist-beating ferret whom the big dog bosses never listen to, even though he's always right.

2:00 P.M. Chloe calls. "Nooner?" Jack: "It's not noon. But yeah. Bring it on! I do have time for this!" In bed they play their little game: "You are gonna tell me what I wanna know. It's just a matter of how much you want it to hurt."

3:00 P.M. Jack goes to the bathroom again. He remembers he's out of toilet paper. "Damn it!" He does laundry, but the washing machine overflows with suds. Hilarity ensues.

4:00 P.M. Jack meets Bill Buchanan for a feisty game of Putt-Putt Golf. Bill dismisses Jack's advice to bounce a putt off a clown's shoe, frustrating Jack. "I need you to trust me!"

5:00 P.M. Chloe meets Jack to exchange office gossip over an early supper. Jack's a sucker for an early bird special. Stirring his coffee, he almost accidentally substitutes anthrax for sugar.

6:00 P.M. The black-and-white episode. Jack naps and dreams he's back in the 1920s with the cast of the original "Star Trek."

7:00 P.M. The musical episode. Jack wakes from his nap to discover everything he and his crew say comes out in song, wonders why.

8:00 P.M. Jack cleans his condo and tries on Chloe's lingerie. She walks in awkwardly at exactly the moment he's drag-dancing in the living room. "Jack?!" She storms out in tears. "I don't even know who you are anymore!"

9:00 P.M. Jack decides to go to bed, but he can't sleep. So he organizes his iTunes and tries to find a good show on. "There is nothing on TV! Oh, hey, 'Law & Order's' on TNT. Aw, I've seen this one. But I can't remember how it ends."

10:00 P.M. Chinese spy baddie Cheng Zhi comes over for Christmas Eve cocktails. Jack threatens to torture him but decides against it. They accidentally get locked in a freezer, where each learns the other guy really isn't so bad.

11:00 P.M. Jack goes clubbing. Gets slipped ecstasy. Talks to cat. Dances, makes out with girl he's never seen before, stumbles home feeling "incredibly alive."

12:00 A.M. Jack calls Chloe and tells her he's rolling on "e." She brings him a government-secret "bring down" to counter the drug. Doesn't like his new hair gear. "Jack, you're so not a bandanna guy."

1:00 A.M. A very special "24." Jack's neighbor Michael Scofield is shocked to find Jack coming down from rolling on "e." Michael calls mutual friends, and they forge a sometimes wacky, sometimes touching intervention.

2:00 A.M. The intervention leaves Jack grumpy, depressed and angry. He passes out and is visited by three ghosts, the spirits of President Palmer, his dead wife Teri and late brother Graem. They show him his past, present and future. He wakes up giddy that it's still only 3 a.m. and leaves to try to find a honey-glazed turkey in the middle of the night.

3:00 A.M.

He tries to prepare the Christmas turkey in a single-guy way. More hilarity.
4:00 A.M. The live episode, staged in front of a studio audience. People keep knocking on Jack's door, slamming doors, ridiculing his bandanna and his overinflated sense of national worth. Jack proposes to Chloe. Special guest star: Cloris Leachman!

5:00 A.M. Chloe says, "I do." The happy couple drives three minutes to the nearest wedding chapel to get married. They have trouble waking the ornery chapel owner. She pesters him to write his own vows. An ex of Jack's just happens to walk in during the part where the minister says, "If anyone objects to this union ..."

6:00 A.M. After honeymoon action, Chloe comes out of the bathroom with a pregnancy test in her hands. "I'm knocked up ... again!" Jack's already supporting the kid she had with Morris. So they argue over whether they can abide more kids, less sex.

7:00 A.M. Using secret government technology, Chloe accelerates her pregnancy, gives birth to nine-month-old ... twins! Jack, thinking ahead, already has presents for them under the tree, which he throws into the swimming pool for laughs.

Word on the street is that the Commander in Chief on next season's revamped 24 will likely be a (drumroll, please) woman. Casting could begin any day now on the sure-to-be-plum part. A show rep, however, cautions, "Nothing about next season has been absolutely decided as of yet."

Assuming it does happen, 24's lady prez would be in office just as Hillary Clinton's bid for the White House kicks into high gear. Coincidence? Hmmm….

In other 24 news, the show is also said to be adding a female FBI agent to the mix.

As I first reported last month, 24 — in an effort to reclaim some of the creative and ratings steam it lost last season — is shaking things up in a big way during Season 7. For the first time in the show's history, CTU will be MIA as the majority of the action moves outside Los Angeles; New York, Washington D.C. and London are among the new locales being considered. Additionally, of last season's cast, only Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub are shoo-ins to return.

I've read the script for season premiere. The shows internal casting agents are having difficulties casting and they are putting all of their efforts into casting the new President and they are hiring out the casting duties for the smaller but still integral parts. So if I was able to get my hands on this you can expect others to do so as well.

Casting early on has been disastrous and a massive script overhaul which re-inserted a White house storyline caused a big shake-up. Originally the season was going to be set in San Diego but the network felt the show needed to do a 180 and they feel a East Coast setting can do that. We've heard there was a big face-off over production costs and the additional units needed for east coast exteriors but the network lifted the budget a tiny bit and they will still shoot the majority of the exteriors in Los Angeles and only travel to D.C. once a month and fit in as much as they can within a 2-3 day period.

STEVEN ARONSON: Aronson is the CEO of a defense company he's in a world of trouble as his company has been exposed as supplying arms to several international terrorist organizations which include Muslim extremist organizations and rogue African nations. Aronson is smart and as always with the show, he's not what he seems to be.

* Some of the actors who have auditioned for this role are Nigel Gibbs (The Shield), Robert Wisdom (The Wire), (The network liked Wisdom as he was placed in another fox show), Matthew St. Patrick, and Eamonn Walker (OZ). Eamonn Walker is the lead choice right now.

PETER WHITMAN: Male, European, 30's or 40's. Whitman is the CEO of the ILO Defense firm and the chief rival of Steven Aronson. These two men have a fierce hatred for each other and they will do anything to bring each others company down and to win an upcoming multi billion dollar Government contract.

* Absolutely nobody has auditioned for this role yet and names are still being compiled. One of the directors of the show is trying to convince the network to look at a seemingly unknown actor I've never heard of named Peter Wingfield.

PRESIDENT ELIZABETH COLLINS: I don't have access to a full character description but she's the new President and she's a woman. Most of her scenes are not in the script I have.

* Sela Ward is the network favorite.

Here's my review:

The show is going in a completely different direction and there is no CTU. This season takes place in Washington D.C., TWO YEARS after day 6. There's a new President and pretty much new everything. The plot finds Jack working for a defense contractor whose got himself in a heap of trouble. It seems that Jack's boss has been exposed as supplying arms to several international terrorist organizations which include Muslim extremist groups and rogue African nations. Jack investigates the source of these allegations and finds himself involved in a conspiracy involving rival defense contractors. So to start things off there's not really much at stake except the survival of a defense contractor's company.

Chloe and Morris work for the mysterious CTU overseer agency Division. The building is a huge new state of the art anti terror building in D.C it even has a daycare unit and this comes in handy as Chloe has baby girl named Gweneth.

The central plot in the premiere is all about Jack trying to find out who is trying to frame his boss. Allegations surface by way of an anonymous source who has provided overwhelming evidence to the media and to federal investigators. We don't really know if Jack's boss is responsible for all of these international atrocities but he's hiding something and Jack knows it.

The very first scene finds Jack making love with a mysterious new female character. This woman is named Nyah and according to the script she's a foreign intelligence operative who is moonlighting for a defense contractor to spy on Jack's bosses company. Jack finishes and he gets up and grabs his clothes and gets ready to leave. He knocks over a vase and it breaks and Nyah cleans it up. Nyah kisses Jack goodbye and says that she will see him tonight. Jack leaves the hotel room and the woman calls a man on her cell phone and tells him that she got the memory card and that she will deliver it to them within the hour. This is the first case of misdirection as we are being led to believe that Jack is being played by this Rhona Mitra looking corporate spy but we quickly realize that Jack is the one that's playing the woman and Jack's people have uploaded a crippling virus onto the card.

Morris O'Brien is working in the Division Operations center. He calls Chloe who is taking care of their child at their home. The calm and serenity of their lives doesn't last for long because alarms start going off at Division and they are getting hacked. Division is defenseless as the hacker accesses top secret files and Morris tries to stop him but there's nothing he can do. Chloe is still on the phone and she guides Morris on how to defend the network and Morris does and he's able to ward off the hacker for now. Morris does a footprint check and he sees that the hacker wasn't trying to access files and that he was only trying to delete a select few. Morris investigates the files and he discovers that they are all involving Jack Bauer and they all focus on his activities over the past 18 months. Morris tells Chloe this and she says she's coming in.

Jack arrives at the Aronson Defense building. Jack goes into Aronson's office and several men are meeting with the Defense CEO. Jack knocks on the door and the men quickly stop talking and they act really shady and Jack watches as they leave the room. Jack briefs Aronson on the the successful operation regarding Nyah. Aronson is happy and he informs Jack that this may give them the edge they need to secure the contract and help subdue Whitman and his operatives. The happiness in the room doesn't last for long and the phones in Aronson's office start to go crazy and his secretary comes in and tells him to put it on Fox News. Aronson does and the reporter is breaking some stunning news as allegations are surfacing that Aronson's company is supplying arms to several international terrorist organizations which include Muslim extremist organizations and rogue African nations. These weapons have killed U.S. soldiers, and countless civilians and the report claims to have overwhelming evidence that directly ties Aronson to the international atrocities. Aronson is furious and he initially claims that the allegations are false but Jack gets the feeling that something might be up. Jack is tasked with investigating the source of the allegations. Before Jack leaves there's an awkward moment where Aronson says "Goodbye Jack". Jack quickly brushes it off.

The White house portions of the script are missing several pages and it's hard to make out what they are trying to do. It appears that President Collins husband is involved in the Aronson scandal and he's trying to manipulate his wife so that the contract is awarded to the Aronson group. There's blackmail involved and Aronson's associates have some embarrassing photos of the President's husband with a white house staffer. The major twist in the Presidential storyline towards the end of the episode is that the President calls Steven Aronson and it appears that she has knowledge of the photos and her husbands infidelity and she is not going to stand by her man, she's throwing him under the bus and she calls Aronson's bluff and challenges him to release the photos. Aronson is speechless and he's in over his head. The President owned him.

The White house storyline also involves Rachel Carlson, a F.B.I. agent who is investigating the President's husband on allegations of sexual misconduct involving several of the low level staffers. I have next to nothing on this but she meets with one of the staffers at a mall in D.C. and something goes wrong. That's all I can find on this story.

Jack is driving around D.C. and his cell phone rings. He answers and the voice on the other end tells Jack that he can help him find the source. Jack agrees to meet with the man but he's very skeptical.

The Peter Whitman character finally makes his appearance towards the end. Nyah arrives at the ILO corporate headquarters and she gives the memory card to a man named Peterson. Jack did his job and the card is infected with a network crippling virus and Nyah's incompetence causes the ILO mainframe to crash and this allows Aronson's hackers full access into their system. Whitman orders Peterson to execute Nyah but a shooter from across the way fires inside the room and Nyah is able to escape.

The final act ends with Jack following the bad lead and he thinks he's about to uncover the source of the information. It's a set-up and there's a massive shootout on a D.C. street and the script adds that we're supposed to see the Capitol building in the far background. Jack kills about five or six guys and he questions the last remaining guy. The man reveals that his people were directly hired by Steven Aronson and their sole task was to eliminate Jack.

That's pretty much the premiere script. I've only got 47 pages so I'm missing a pretty big chuck. There are several characters at Division that I didn't touch on and I will write up a character breakdown when I have the chance.

That's it. Hope they don't change much as it was a really good read. They will still be shooting in Chatsworth and I don't know how they are going to work out the D.C. stuff.

You'll be the first to know if I get any 7.2 stuff. It's very doubtful though.

I should also add that we've been told Bill Buchanan and Karen Hayes will return starting in episode 7.2.

Dat stuk over dat de man van de president vreemd gegaan is met iemand, dat hoort toch helemaal niet thuis in een serie als 24 Maar goed we zien wel, kan alle kanten op gaan. Het is gewoon jammer dat ze weer een politieke verhaallijn erin moeten proppen, daar is 24 zó slecht in meestal.

Dat was inderdaad wel aardig, maar omdat seizoen 5 niet zo slecht was, komt de muziek gewoon daar meer tot z'n recht. Jones moves into '24' Oval Office

Cherry Jones has been appointed president on the upcoming season of "24," sources said.

The network wouldn't confirm, but sources said Jones has come on board the real-time thriller, the first major casting addition to the show's upcoming seventh season.

"24" producers had been contemplating having a female president next season for some time. (HR 6/22)

Their decision to go for it adds another wrinkle to the closely watched Democratic Party's presidential race, in which Hillary Clinton is the frontrunner.

Production of the 20th Century Fox TV/Imagine TV-produced "24" was recently delayed until August when a set-in-Africa storyline fell through and the producers went back to the drawing board.

Jones' feature credits include "Ocean's Twelve" and "The Village."

Ik las in een een of ander blad dat er wat problemen zijn en dat de opnames van het nieuwe seizoen een maand ofzo zijn uitgesteld. Er werd bij gezegd dat het nog niet zeker was of dat het begin van de nieuwe '24' in januari zou beinvloeden. Iemand meer nieuws daarover?
