Ljungberg could leave
Freddie Ljungberg has hinted that he could leave Arsenal this summer unless he sees signs of greater ambition at Highbury.
The 28-year-old is currently on international duty with Sweden but is undecided about whether to sign a new contract with the FA Cup winners.
"I won't re-sign if the club's ambition doesn't match mine," Ljungberg told the Sunday Express.
"The biggest thing is the Champions League trophy, but I can't see how we can achieve that if we are relying on bringing in 18 and 19-year-olds, then expecting them to play 30 matches at the top level.
"What I'm saying is not about money - it's about ambition."
Ljungberg played in Saturday's 6-0 demolition of Malta as the Swedes kept the pressure on Croatia at the top of World Cup qualifying Group 8.
He is also expected to play in Wednesday's friendly international against Norway.
Ljungberg has spent the last seven years at Highbury and has played over 250 games for the club since his £3million switch from Halmstads.

West Ham United probeert Fredrik Ljungberg los te weken bij Arsenal, dat Ryan Babel als potentiële opvolger ziet in geval de Zweedse international inderdaad verkast.
Ajax hoeft nog geen toenadering op korte termijn van Arsenal te verwachten, ook al heeft West Ham United z'n zinnen heeft gezet op Ljungberg als versterking in de winterstop. The Gunners willen volgens The Independent Babel pas na dit seizoen naar Londen halen.
Ljungberg (29), die nog twee jaar onder contract staat bij Arsenal, is niet de enige versterking die West Ham op het oog heeft. The Hammers worden ook in verband gebracht met Shaun-Wright Phillips (Chelsea), Alexei Smertin (Dinamo Moskou) en Mark Viduka (Middlesbrough). Onlangs nam West Ham al de Portugees Luís Boa Morte over van Fulham.

Maar het lijkt erop dat Ljungberg's tijd erop zit bij Arsenal. Ik vindt het zeer jammer. Een staat van dienst van maar liefst 8 jaar. Wellicht wel niet dezelfde status weten op te bouwen als Bergkamp. Maar toch enigszins een key-player voor Arsenal.
En wat Babel betreft:
Laat hem maar lekker bij Ajax blijven. Arsenal heeft veel meer baat bij hun recente aankopingen als Rosicky. Een
echte winger als Overmars komt overigens maar zelden voorbij.
