Ik en mijn mailneger.

Het was 19 augustus, een saaie zaterdag. Ik had die dag treurig naar buiten gestaart, naar een regenachtige lucht. Mijn vreugde was begrijpelijk, toen er een qua uiterlijk zeer officiële mail binnenkwam. De afzender was mo_ro1817@ozu.es, een spaans adres, nam ik aan. Het onderwerp was "attention and mutual understanding". De mail, die ik onder het genot van een lekker kopje thee, hoe begrijpelijk op zulke gure zaterdagen, eens rustig doornam, bevatte een bericht, die de oorzaak was van een zoute traan die langs mijn warme wangen biggelde.

Deze mail kwam als een donderslag in mijn rustige en geordende leventje. Dit trieste verhaal van Morgan en Silvia lieten mij in het geheel niet ongeroerd, evenals het percentage van 20% van een niet te versmaden bedrag.

Deze neger, want dat zijn ze allemaal in afrika, was schijnbaar op de een of andere manier aan mijn e-mail adres gekomen. Dat kan, maar daar zou ik later nog op terugkomen. Ik schreef hem de volgende dag een gepast antwoord terug. De volgende dag, want ik moest deze verantwoordelijkheid eerst bevatten.

Na deze mail, waarbij ik kleine dollartekentjes had in dezelfde ogen waar daarnet nog een traan uit viel, was ik zeer ongerust over het welzijn van deze twee jonge mensen. Lang op antwoord hoefde ik niet te wachten.

Het was maandag, 21 augustus. Ik keek wederom of er berichten voor mij waren. Ik had antwoord van Morgan Coleman.

Hier veranderde er vele zaken. Ten eerste scheen ik een oom te zijn. Ik stond hier in de eerste plaats van te kijken, daar ik zeventien jaar ben. Echter, aangezien mijn zusje zestien is en ik geen enkele reden heb om aan te nemen dat zij niet bezwangerd is en twee schattige negerkindjes in Ivoorkust heeft achtergelaten, ga ik er nog steeds vanuit dat Morgan Coleman goede bedoelingen heeft.

De plannen waren duidelijk. Echter opvallend dat deze mail van een derde adres kwam, namelijk coleman_morgan@yahoo.com. Maargoed, mijn momenteel goede bekende ivoriaan zal ongetwijfeld zeer actief zijn op internet.

Diezelfde dag stuurde ik nog een antwoord.

Enigszins gehaast werd de vriendelijkheid van mijn mail niet geheel beter op. De bedoelingen waren duidelijk.
Gelukkig vatte Morgan het niet kwaad op en was zo vriendelijk me diezelfde dag een antwoord terug te sturen.

Door niet nader te noemen omstandigheden kon ik even niet bij mijn mail komen. Morgan werd terecht ongerust en stuurde mij wederom een mail.

Uiteraard, stuurde ik hem zo snel mogelijk een mailtje terug. Ik kon hem duidelijk maken wat ik allemaal al had gedaan, en wat ik zou gaan doen.

Na deze haast familiaire, hoewel dat niet geheel ongepast is, mail, bleef antwoord gedurende 5 dagen uit. Nu was het mijn beurt om ongerust te worden, waarom mailde Morgan niet terug? Was er iets mis met Silvia? Zou ik mijn geld nog krijgen? Ik uiterste wanhoop stuurde ik nogmaals een mail.

Dat was gisteren. Vandaag kreeg ik mijn antwoord terug.

En dat was mijn verhaal. Ik vrees nu dat het misgaat met mijn neef en nicht, respectievelijk Morgan Coleman en Silvia Coleman. Hopelijk kan ik binnenkort een geruststellende mail verwachten, om zeker te weten dat mijn $2.300.000 eraan komt.

Hoop met mijn mee, dat alles goed komt met deze twee mensen, geraakt door tragische omstandigheden, noodlottig een wreed.
