Electric Eel Shock
'BEAT ME'

James Sherry (Kerrang Writer):
"By now it's common knowledge in the rock world that Electric Eel Shock are an incredible live band whose ballistic energy borders on lunacy. Now with assistance from Grammy nominated producer Attie Bauw (Scorpions, Judas Priest, Bootsy Collins, Latoya Jackson, The Gathering etc) EES have made an album that has harnessed their raw onstage power and successfully smeared it all over studio tape.
Mixing dark fuzzy stoner rock riffs with classic rock sensibilities and addictive song-writing hooks, BEAT ME occupies the gaping void somewhere between Queens Of The Stoneage, AC/DC and Black Sabbath. It's both as heavy and serious as that sounds, yet has a mischievous and fun-filled heart beating underneath the guitar wielding heaviness that is wild, unhinged and damn fun to listen too!
Opener 'Scream For Me' kicks in with a fist-punching, foot stomping Maiden inspired drum beat that could be straight out of the rock and roll glam years, then the guitars stampede all over you like a herd of untamed buffalo and front man Akihito bellows 'Scream For Me Baby!' at the top of his lungs.
Next up, 'Bastard!' is as vicious and pounding as the title suggests, while 'Sex Noise' takes the pace down a peg or too with a slow and brooding rock groove that is full of menace. Elsewhere, 'Killer Killer' is a Monster Magnet inspired psychedelic groover that phases and resonates your mind into oblivion, while 'Don't Say Fuck' is a punk rock jab in the eye with a chorus that hits you like a rabbit punch in the back of the neck.
The album closes with the first cover EES have committed to CD and it will come as no surprise that they have chosen a track by their gods Black Sabbath. The funky speeded up treatment of Iron Man has transformed the song to something that is all EES.
