Another studio insider adds, "This movie borders on being sick." Bad Santa - directed by Terry Zwigoff - hits American cinemas next Friday.

Disney heeft dus a long long time ago dat bedrijfje opgericht dat de film nu uit brengt en wil gewoon koste wat het kost niet in verband komen te staan met een film waarin de Kerstman zuipt, zuigt, snuift et cetera. Maar wees niet bang, kijk de trailer maar en je ziet dat er wel een Disney moraal aanwezig is.

En ik ben echt waar niet zo'n Disney fan, ik heb gewoon veel interesse voor het bedrijf en alles wat erachter zit.
Ik vind ook een boel erg negatief aan Disney...

This is just not in the spirit of Walt Disney." However, a Disney spokesperson told today's (Tuesday) New York Daily News: "No one [at Disney] has expressed any complaints to us. Over time there have been great stories about bad Santas who have redeemed themselves. This is one of them. The humor in the film speaks for itself."

Sex ain't the only thing causing all the fuss - "the movie also includes a shoot-out, a murder and a police car chase". "Nothing appears scared anymore. This is not in the spirit of Walt Disney" said one studio insider, "This movie borders on being sick" added another.
Mere hours later however, The New York Daily News did a follow-up piece and spoke with a Disney rep who responded "No one [at Disney] has expressed any complaints to us. Over time there have been great stories about bad Santas who have redeemed themselves. This is one of them. The humor in the film speaks for itself".
An early and somewhat mixed review of the film has appeared up at MediaSharX and talks about this 'controversial' tone a little more:
"Don't go into BAD SANTA expecting a heart-warming Christmas comedy or high art, as this film is quite dark in nature and bred for easy laughter. Dark comedies don't seem to sit well with the general audience; no doubt this one will end up the same. However, director Terry Zwigoff, no stranger to the dark comedy, has put together a generally enjoyable film that isn't as subtle as his last ("Ghost World") but it doesn't try to wedge-in the jokes as some comedies of late are apt to do..."
