Er is wel wat discussie over, er schijnt een of andere coureur te zijn die in 1953 ook een 'paar meter' heeft gereden, maar meestal wordt dit 'record' aan Apicella toegeschreven, zover ik weet.
Eind jaren 80 en begin jaren 90 waren er zoveel teams dat er 'pre-qualifying' was. Sommige rijders kwamen daar onmogelijk doorheen. Welke coureur, die in 1990 14 keer niet door de prequalifying wist te komen, heeft het 'record' van meeste pogingen (die 14) om te starten in de race, zonder ook maar 1 keer te starten?

Op wikipedia staat inderdaad dat Loof het minst aantal meters heeft van de coureurs die zich hebben gekwalificeerd voor minstens 1 race. Wat beslist de racecontrol?
