Een moeilijk aspect is dat het lastig te bestrijden is. Bij wijze van toeval spreken de statistieken zijn leugens tegen wat nu kan helpen, maar het framen van een bepaalde groep als een kanker in de maatschappij so-to-speak is kwaadaardig op zich, onafhankelijk van de precieze statistieken over de groep of enkele individuele misdrijven (los van groepen die zelf ook weer haat zaaien, wat de discussie ook weer vertroebelt).
