Nou ja een land dat zo export-afhankelijk is als China zal weinig keuze hebben. Gaat het de 'bonds' verkopen dan krijg je een dusdanig mechanisme in werking waar China zelf ook onder lijdt, het hele mechanisme is er zodat China het huidige stelsel in gang kan houden, dus als een Chinese functionaris opeens roept het is tijd om te diversificeren, net als ze tarieven om de oren hebben gekregen, dan vind ik het volstrekt onwaarschijnlijk dat ze het zichzelf nog moeilijker gaan maken.quote:

Het tweede kan maar als het 'bonds' gaat verkopen zal de Yuan in waarde oplopen waardoor importeren vanuit China weer een stuk minder aantrekkelijker is dus je die afzetmarkten, en mogelijk meer, alweer kwijt bent.quote:

Punt is op een gegeven moment dat ook de dealer geen zin heeft te kredietten te geven aan een junkie die zn rekeningen eigenlijk niet meer kan voldoen en hooguit schulden laat oplopen.

Dit is de enige manier waarop China consequent 6%+ groei op jaarbasis kan krijgen en de eigen munteenheid laag houdt om zo maar te blijven exporteren over de hele wereld. China is nu nog niet in staat het systeem te veranderen en Amerika af te stoten. Ik denk dat jij het niet helemaal begrijpt. Het klopt zoals ik al zei dat China daar naar toe aan het werken is maar feitelijk is China daar nog lang niet (groeipercentages zijn en moeten nog altijd boven de 6% blijven), bovendien zal een groot deel van Xi Jinping's internationale handelspolitiek gericht zijn op de 'One Belt One Road'-iniative wat China weliswaar minder afhankelijk maakt van export naar Amerika maar niet van export in zijn geheel, in de toekomst kan China wellicht overwegen om Bonds te verkopen, als de wederzijdse afhankelijkheid minder groot is geworden.quote:

Als je toch in de deal-junk analogie wilt blijven dan moet je het wel correct uitleggen. De deal blijft de schulden opbouwen zodat de junk kan blijven kopen en prijzen bij deze dealer laag blijven. Als de prijzen bij deze dealer laag zijn zullen meer junks van hem kopen. Als de dealer niet zodanig gediversificeerd is dat hij of niche-producten heeft die alleen bij hem te koop zijn, andere dealer heeft doodgeschoten en een soort monopolie op drugsgebied is begonnen, of in een commune zonder winstoogmerk is gaan wonen dan is het volstrekt onwaarschijnlijk dat hij deze junk op korte termijn om geld kan gaan vragen.
De afnemer heeft zijn zaken wellicht misschien niet op orde maar datzelfde geldt voor de dealer in dit geval.

Je zegt niks concreet of wat strookt met het handelsmechanisme dat China en Amerika met elkaar hebben opgezet en van elkaar afhankelijk maakt. Ik denk dat je ook niet helemaal snapt wat er gaat gebeuren als China de schuldpapieren verkoopt en wat voor effect dat heeft op A) Amerika --> B) China --> C) Wereldeconomie --> D) China (waarbij B + C uitwisselbaar zijn). In een wereld waar Amerika een minder prominente economische speelde, waarbij de Dollar niet nog altijd de valuta bij uitstek is, waarbij China niet hoefde te blijven investeren in 'plastic' in eigen land en overal ter wereld om de cash flows op gang te houden, sure, dan zou het wellicht nog kunnen dat China ooit eens de schuldpapieren gaat verkopen. Uitsluiten dat dit gebeurt kan niet voor de toekomst en kan nu niet. Maar gezien de Chinese afhankelijk van export (naar Amerika), van een stabiele munteenheid om de eigen investeringen te kunnen financieren, en een redelijke wereldhandel hoef je echt niet te verwachten dat China dit gaat ondernemen.
Maar als jij denk dat het geen bluf is prima we zullen het in de gaten houden.
Tot dusverre is er weinig gebleken dat het niet meer dan bluf zou zijn.
De enige die bluft is Trump.

Jabbing the President in a strikingly personal way, Comey noted the size of Trump's hands, said his skin looked orange and described white rings around his eyes from tanning goggles.
But Comey isn't just out to hurt Trump's feelings. He is on a more profound mission: His book is a parable about the threat from a brazen President who demands a warped concept of loyalty and has only disdain for the rule of law.
"Hell hath no fury like an FBI director scorned," former Trump economic adviser Stephen Moore said on CNN.
CNN obtained a copy of the book and corroborated news reports about Comey's highly anticipated recounting of his time in the Trump administration.
In one staggering part of the book, "A Higher Loyalty," Comey said dealing with Trump reminded him of his days prosecuting Mafia kingpins with their "silent circle of assent."
"The boss in complete control. The loyalty oaths. The us-versus-them worldview. The lying about all things, large and small, in service to some code of loyalty that put the organization above morality and above the truth."
"What is happening now is not normal. ... It is not fake news. It is not okay," he writes, sketching a brutal, feudal world that seems incompatible with traditional perceptions of the presidency.
All presidents are vulnerable to tell-alls by disgruntled former insiders that expose the enmities, gaffes and scandals of their West Wings. Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton all experienced indictments by disillusioned staffers.
Yet no commander in chief in modern memory has had to endure the humiliation heaped on Trump by Comey, who argues that the President saw the FBI as a personal investigative service bound to do his bidding.
How will Trump react?
The most immediate question now is how Trump, who typically rages over attacks on his image and lives a creed of swift retaliation, will respond to the former FBI director's portrayal of his "forest fire" of a presidency.
Besieged by scandals, fast-worsening legal entanglements and wrestling with a life and death decision on whether to launch military action in Syria, Trump is humiliated and under indescribable political pressure that may not be conducive to wise decision-making and seems sure to boil over on Twitter.
In a tsunami of bad news for the President just on Thursday, it was reported that the National Enquirer's parent company had paid off a doorman at one of his properties to keep quiet about a rumor that the President had sired an illegitimate child.
CNN has confirmed neither the story nor the rumor, but if true it would fit into a pattern of payoffs to people alleging transgressions in Trump's private life.
In yet another stunner, sources familiar with the matter said recordings that Trump attorney Michael Cohen often made of his telephone conversations likely have been scooped up in the FBI raid Monday on the attorney's apartment, office and hotel room.
CNN's Jim Acosta reported Thursday that the President had only just begun to cool off after the raid, which partly resulted from a referral to New York prosecutors from special counsel Robert Mueller.
But wall-to-wall news coverage of the leaks was likely to send Trump up the wall all over again, since there are few people he disdains more than Comey.
In an NBC interview last May, Trump blasted the former FBI chief as a "showboat" and a "grandstander." As recently as Monday, the President called Comey a liar and said he had been right to sack him. Trump has made no secret of his view of Comey as the epitome of a "deep state" effort to destroy him.
Like the furor over the book "Fire and Fury" by author Michael Wolf, published in January, this Trump headache will not fade soon.
Thursday's revelations were just the start of a week of pain for Trump, as Comey is about to embark on a media blitz, starting with an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "20/20" on Sunday. CNN's Jake Tapper will sit down with the former FBI director next Thursday.
It's not clear even that the Republican National Committee's plan to unleash a counterattack on "Lyin' Comey," exclusively revealed by CNN's Jeff Zeleny on Thursday, will be sufficient to rebut the hard-charging claims in the book.
Still Comey's willingness to write about salacious details of the Steele dossier, including the notorious claim that Trump watched prostitutes urinate in a Moscow hotel room -- accounts that have not been verified -- could bolster GOP arguments that he is going tabloid just to sell books.
Book to have a long half life
The book is sure to have long-term political and legal consequences.
Its publication on Tuesday is certain to thicken the intrigue over Russian election meddling, and the President's apparent lack of interest in making the Kremlin pay a price.
In the book, Comey recalls being struck that neither Trump nor his advisers asked top intelligence officials at a meeting in Trump Tower "about what the future Russian threat might be. Nor did they ask how the United States might prepare itself to meet that threat." Instead, the book says, they focused on "how they could spin what we'd just told them."
Potentially, Comey's assault could play into Trump's thinking as he mulls whether to seek to dismiss Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, perhaps as a precursor to shutting down Mueller himself.
It will certainly offer fodder for Democrats, who will argue in the midterm elections that Trump lacks the morals, intellect or temperament to be President. But there's little chance it will loosen Trump's unshakeable hold on his political support base, which tends to view such media storms as more proof that the establishment is biased against Trump.
Material in the book suggests, however, that Comey, who has already spoken to Mueller's investigators, will be a crucial witness as the special counsel considers whether the President obstructed justice.
In the book, Comey repeats his claim that Trump asked if he could go easy on former national security adviser Michael Flynn, which he revealed in congressional testimony last year. But he stops short of outlining an obstruction case against Trump:
"I have one perspective on the behavior I saw, which while disturbing and violating basic norms of ethical leadership, may fall short of being illegal."
Excerpts from the book also reflect just how deeply Comey's tenure resulted in the FBI being dragged into the center of America's poisonous politics, a process likely to be exacerbated by days of controversy over his book.
Those who find Comey a flawed messenger with a healthy sense of ego and a holier-than-thou belief in his own propriety may also find ammunition for their views in the book.
In one section, he criticizes Obama administration Attorney General Loretta Lynch as having a "tortured, half-out, half-in approach" to the Clinton email investigation, for which he was excoriated by Democrats.
Comey also writes that he was told by Barack Obama after the election that nothing that had happened had caused the then-President to question his integrity.
"Boy, were those words I needed to hear," he writes. "I felt a wave of emotion, almost to the verge of tears."
He wrote that he then told Obama, "I'm just trying to do the right thing."

Je begrijpt niet waarom Amerika een dusdanig systeem heeft ingesteld dat het zulke hoge schulden heeft en waarom het dit laat blijven oplopen. Het opereert ook met een enorm debt-to-gdp-ratio. Dat is ongekend voor zo'n grootmacht maar als je kijkt naar het systeem weer wat minder vreemd. Het Amerikaanse systeem stimuleert niet alleen binnelandse consumptie, het stimuleert ook buitenlandse mogendheden (zoals China), hun savings (geldoverschot) weg te zetten. Dat kan van overheidswege in schuldpapieren of op private wijze in allerlei investeringen of accounts. Het is een systeem dat feitelijk de gehele wereldhandel zoals die nu is bepaalt. Voor Amerika is het van belang om op die manier het 'gebrek' aan savings te verwerken en voor China om het 'overschot' aan savings te verwerken. Daarom is de junk-dealer analogie zo belachelijk omdat in werkelijkheid de junk net zo hard geld verkoopt aan de dealer voor drugs als de dealer drugs verkoopt aan de junk voor geld. Pas op het moment dat China of andere afzetmarkten vindt om de eigen valuta laag te houden of op het moment dat China binnenlandse consumptie zodanig opgekrikt heeft dat het een stijging van de eigen valuta kan verwerken (in ideale omstandigheden voor China een combinatie omdat het anders de buitenlandse kapitaalstromen die het handelsoverschot in stand houden moet verminderen) kan het overwegen wat schuldpapieren te verkopen. China heeft nu echter zo'n overschot aan kapitaal dat het wel geld moet wegzetten om de export, en dus economische activiteit, in gang te houden.
Nu kan dat niet. Zelfs niet een klein gedeelte. In het geval dat China een klein percentage zou verkopen dan zal de Dollar in waarde afnemen en krijgt China sowieso een lager return-on-investment en loopt het veel geld mis. Maar dat is het punt helemaal niet. Het punt is dat China door te investeren in Amerikaanse schuldpapieren haar eigen systeem, waarin Chinezen minder consumeren en savings hoog zijn en exports dus hoog moeten zijn om dat te compenseren, in stand houdt. De koers van de eigen valuta blijft laag waardoor Chinese producten aantrekkelijk zijn. (Een paar alinea's verder zie je wat er gebeurt als China schuldpapieren verkoopt).
China is op dit moment hard bezig om 'bad debts' aan te pakken. Het pompen van cash flows die vooral bedoeld zijn kapitaalstromen in de private sector zo hoog mogelijk te houden (alhoewel hier ook veel corruptie van overheidshand mee gepaard gaat) en daarmee economische activiteit. Het is onderdeel van hetzelfde Chinese systeem maar de overheid heeft er, in tegenstelling tot de handel in Amerikaanse schuldpapieren, geen controle over waardoor je een groot risico loopt in een bubbel terecht te komen en dus in een economische depressie.
Een tweede manier waarop Chinese bedrijven geld uitgeven is in de vorm van buitenlandse investeringen. Hetzelfde mechanisme maar met een tegengesteld effect op de Chinese valuta. Het dalen van de dollar-reserves (voor buitenlandse betalingen) had een dusdanig inflatie-effect op de Chinese munt dat import-belangen en schulden nijpend werden. De Chinese overheid heeft de externe kapitaalstroom van Dollars dusdanig tegenhouden dat de Chinese valuta nu sterk genoeg is voor de andere kant op.
Maar daar gaat het dus om voor de Chinezen. Controle. En Amerikaanse schuldpapieren zijn dus een belangrijke pilaar voor het in balans houden van hun zorgvuldig gecontroleerde systeem. Nu wil jij iedereen hier proberen te doen laten inzien dat het Amerikaanse schuldsysteem zo nijpend is dat de Amerikaanse economie onbetrouwbaar is geworden en dat China beter zijn geld kan terugtrekken. Maar de werkelijkheid is anders.
Feitelijk is het zo dat dit systeem kan bestaan, dat zoveel landen (niet alleen China) hun geld kunnen wegzetten in Amerika omdat consumptievermogen van hun nationale huishoudens niet voldoende is om de economische activiteit en daarmee handelsoverschot op gang te houden, wanneer China schuldpapieren gaat verkopen, en al is het maar een deel, dan zal de dollar in waarde verminderen, zal de Yuan zodanig in waarde doen oplopen, dat export terug zal lopen (Chinese producten zijn immers duur) en exporteurs dus geld ('bad debts' of wat dan ook) in de vorm van externe kapitaalstromen zullen proberen weg te zetten in landen als Amerika om hun 'trade surplus' op gang te houden waar Amerika vervolgens buitenlandse kapitaalstroomrestricties zal instellen om dat te voorkomen waarmee China in een neerwaartse spiraal belandt.
Hetzelfde geldt overigens voor Amerika. Als de Amerikanen echt het handelstekort willen inperken dan zullen ze niet alleen tarieven moeten instellen maar ook ervoor zorgen dat Chinese capital inflows in Amerika verminderen (exportrestricties hoeft niet te betekenen dat exporteurs minder kapitaal naar China sturen). Wanneer dat gebeurt, en 'capitaal inflows' dus afnemen, dan zal het handelstekort ook daadwerkelijk afnemen en heeft China een aardig probleem (want het verliest een grote afzetmarkt). We focussen nu allemaal op de tarieven in import, maar er wordt ook gespeculeerd en gesproken over een wet die het moeilijker maakt voor Chinese bedrijven in Amerika te investeren, wellicht het topje van de ijsberg waar China echt voor bang is in deze discussie (en waarom het niet verwonderlijk is dat ze dreigen met het verkopen van schuldpapieren, het zal immers een zelfde negatief effect hebben voor China alleen de hoge inflatie voor de Dollar zal dan ook desastreus voor Amerika kunnen zijn, alleen China kan het niet doen omdat ze dan hun eigen ruiten ingooien, je kan ermee dreigen maar je kan het uiteindelijk niet verkopen als een overwinning, en daarmee is het bluf).
Het is zeer interessant wat er nu gebeurt want het laat zien hoe de relaties tussen bepaalde machtsblokken echt liggen op economisch gebied, en niet alleen tussen machtsblokken, maar het de wereldhandel als geheel en wellicht hoe ongelijk deze is verdeeld dus (niet voor China en niet voor Amerika echter).

“It’s difficult to bring part of the pact and renegotiate it,” he said, calling it a “well-balanced pact” that carefully addressed the needs of the current 11 member nations.

More broadly, it signals to the region that the United States is not giving up on trade, despite Mr. Trump’s sometimes harsh words. Even as officials in other countries expressed skepticism on Friday, they said they would like to hear what Washington has to offer. “Japan would like to listen to the U.S.’s view,” said Mr. Suga, the Japanese official.
The barriers to a new pact are considerable. Many current members of the pact feel they already gave considerable ground to the United States to strike the original deal, particularly in sensitive areas like protections for pharmaceutical companies.
For its part, the Trump administration worries that the partnership will become a zero-tariff backdoor for Chinese goods into the American market. It worries that companies that have moved much of their supply chains to China could make components there, ship them to a member of the T.P.P. for assembly, then sell them in the United States tariff-free. It wants to toughen requirements for how much of the product is made within the T.P.P. country, which could make the goods less competitive.
Their worries focus largely on Vietnam, a member of the current version of the T.P.P. It has a large population, and a few big American companies, like Intel, have already invested heavily in setting up factories there that make products practically from scratch. But many other companies that are exporting goods from Vietnam rely heavily on imports from China. Vietnam’s huge garment industry, for example, relies greatly on fabric and accessories imported from China, according to garment manufacturing executives.
Vietnamese officials did not respond to requests for comment on Friday. Frederick Burke, managing partner for Vietnam at the American law firm Baker McKenzie, said that the Vietnamese government is “very aware of and focused on the issue of circumvention” in trade.
Renegotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP, may not be quick. Mr. Trump’s trade negotiators already have their hands full this spring trying to complete changes to the North American Free Trade Agreement. They need to decide whether to extend temporary exemptions from the president’s new tariffs on imported steel and aluminum. Above all, they are locked in a series of increasingly acrimonious trade spats with China.
China is making its own outreach efforts in the meantime. Wang Yi, its foreign minister, will travel to Tokyo on Sunday. China has played up free trade talks with Japan and with South Korea, which is not a member of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.Sheila A. The Trump administration “could walk right back in with the exact same deal from last year that they walked out of, and claim victory,” said Ms. Smith, who noted that the government of Mr. Abe “has been continuously and quietly encouraging the U.S. administration to take another look” at the pact.
One lingering question would be how China would react. The pact’s rules were designed in part to challenge China by encouraging members to loosen state support of their economies and relax trade rules — steps Beijing would have to take if it hoped to someday join the pact and enjoy its lower trade barriers.
China is not likely to be troubled by a United States move to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership as long as the Trump administration is doing so for strictly trade reasons, said He Weiwen, a former Commerce Ministry official and trade specialist who is now a senior fellow at the influential Center for China and Globalization in Beijing.
But the Chinese government is likely to be dismayed if the United States is reconsidering it as part of any revival of the Obama administration’s geopolitical pivot to Asia, or as part of any attempt to isolate China, Mr. He cautioned.
“That’s what we should be careful about,” he said.
Some current members of the pact greeted Mr. Trump’s comments on Thursday warmly. A spokeswoman for Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry said it welcomed the American interest. “The TPP was designed to be an inclusive agreement, which is open to like-minded countries willing and able to meet its high standards,” the spokeswoman said.
Still, even American allies suggest a long road ahead if Mr. Trump moves forward.
“If the United States genuinely did wish to re-enter, that would trigger another process of engagement and negotiation,” Jacinda Ardern, the prime minister of New Zealand, said on television, adding that she still planned to go forward with the deal as-is. “It’s not just a matter of slotting into an existing deal.”
