GAME OF THRONES fans have been left baffled after a huge wall of ice – reminiscent of The Wall in the hit TV series – was discovered in real life.

Monster chunks of ice appear to have been blown together on the remote border between Russia and China, freezing into place to form an enormous wall that has to be seen to be believed.

Jaw-dropping video shot near the area, located on the edge of a lake on the border between far eastern Russia's Primorsky Krai and north-eastern China's Heilongjiang province, shows the scale of the structure.

It is reportedly more than 20 metres tall, with locals claiming it has continued to grow in size from the 3m wall first discovered.

Visitors are reportedly travelling from far and wide to see the bizarre phenomenon, which stretches along the eastern side of the lake known as Lake Khanka in Russia and as Lake Xingkai in China.

A witness, who filmed the spectacle before uploading the footage online, wrote: “Mighty Nature created such a beautiful scene on the Xingkai Lakein winter.

“These ice chunks are of different shapes.

“It feels like immortals are descending to the earthly world to enjoy the beautiful view."

Xu Zhong, head of the local meteorological station, claimed the rare phenomenon occurs when lasting low temperatures combine with strong winds and water flows under the lake surface.

It’s similarity to The Wall featured in hit US HBO drama Game Of Thrones has piqued interest from all over the world.

In the show, The Wall stretches for 300 miles and stands more than 700ft tall, protecting the Seven Kingdoms from the White Walkers to the north.
