The saddest thing is, because I am the President of the United States, I am not supposed to be involved with the Justice Department. I’m not supposed to be involved with the FBI. I’m not supposed to be doing the kind of things I would love to be doing. And I am very frustrated by that.
Ja, waarom mag een wannabe dictator niet justitie gebruiken om politieke tegenstanders te vervolgen? Rusland doet het ook.

quote:Memo Reveals Details of Hillary Clinton-DNC Deal
[...]
In exchange for Hillary for America's (HFA) helping the cash-strapped DNC raise money, the party committee agreed "that HFA personnel will be consulted and have joint authority over strategic decisions over the staffing, budget, expenditures, and general election related communications, data, technology, analytics, and research."
Specifically, the DNC agreed to hire a communications director from "one of two candidates previously identified as acceptable to HFA." And while the DNC maintained "the authority to make the final decision" on senior staff in the communications, technology and research departments, the party organization said it would choose "between candidates acceptable to HFA."
However, the memo also made clear that the arrangement pertained to only the general election, not the primary season, and it left open the possibility that it would sign similar agreements with other candidates.
"Nothing in this agreement shall be construed to violate the DNC's obligation of impartiality and neutrality through the Nominating process. All activities performed under this agreement will be focused exclusively on preparations for the General Election and not the Democratic Primary," the memo states.
"Further we understand you may enter into similar agreements with other candidates," it continues.
[...]
The Sanders' campaign later signed its own joint fundraising agreement with the DNC, but did not utilize it.
Volgens mij klopt dat niet.quote:Op vrijdag 3 november 2017 19:09 schreef Ulx het volgende:

.quote:WASHINGTON — The Trump administration has downplayed the role of foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos during the 2016 presidential campaign. But the public record shows that Papadopoulos, who attempted to set up a meeting between Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, was a more prominent figure than previously understood.
Papadopoulos was in Cleveland during the Republican National Convention where he was invited by the American Jewish Committee to speak on a panel about U.S. foreign policy, organizers said.
The AJC forum, occurred on the third day of the RNC in downtown Cleveland. Papadopolous sat on a panel with Reps. Tom Marino, R-Pa., and Ted Yoho, R-Fla., both members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee while Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, gave opening remarks.
"Senator Corker delivered brief welcome remarks at an event hosted by AJC in Cleveland last summer," a spokesman for the senator told NBC News. "Due to his busy schedule, he left before the panel discussion began and does not recall having a substantive conversation with Mr. Papadopoulos or any of the other panelists."
Papadopoulos’ public role for the Trump campaign continued. In late September, just six weeks before Election Day, he gave an interview as a Trump campaign official to the Russian Interfax News Agency, where he said that Trump will “restore the trust” between the U.S. and Russia.
And he met with Israeli leaders during the inauguration in January as a foreign policy adviser for the newly-sworn in president. "We are looking forward to ushering in a new relationship with all of Israel, including the historic Judea and Samaria," Papadopoulos told the Jerusalem Post the following day.
quote:Trump Has Broken the Apology Hypnosis on Race
However, politics at the retail level has been something of a lost art in America in the last several decades as a “New World Order” dictated by experts from on high aggressively sought to shape all things social, political, and economic through a particularly globalist lens. This unrelenting push for an inorganic and supra-national agenda gave rise to the national desire for a brawler who was not only willing to break things but capable of so doing—either through sheer force of will or by an imaginative and methodical strategery heretofore unseen.
And at this early stage of the 21st century, nothing in the United States political arena required breaking more than the identity politics cynically embraced by the Democratic Party.
I hope to write more in the future about how and why the Democrats have gone so badly astray in this way, but a good glimpse of the problem is provided by Joshua Mitchell in his piece, “The Identity-Politics Death Grip.” Mitchell laments the Democrats’ inability, given their political losses, to rethink their failed strategies. Instead, because of the identity politics death grip, they are doubling down on strategies that appear designed to cause national discord.
Mitchell correctly faults identity politics as the problem and asserts that the philosophy results in two important political problems. First is “its blindness to the nature of class in America.” Second is that “it misrepresents the long arc of history.” By this, Mitchell refers to the long arc as a pathway that inevitably sees humans of all races and ethnicities working together. Within a particularly American context, blacks and whites working together, for example, to heal the wounds of slavery.
Leaving aside the issue of class, Mitchell compares and contrasts Martin Luther King, Jr. plus Reinhard Niebuhr with the Democrat Party of today. He finds fault with the Democrat Party, asserts MLK and Niebuhr were Christian theologians who understood (as Democrats at their best do, he writes) that “suffering operates on a different plane, in which the central issue is the broken human condition and its sorrowful reverberations in history,” (emphasis added) and shudders at the thought of a successful evisceration of the America we know by a post-Christian left wing.

quote:Exclusive: Papadopoulos Had a Much Greater Role than the White House Admits, Including a Meeting With the Greek President
The one-on-one meeting took place in the Spring of 2016
George Papadopoulos, the former Trump adviser who was arrested in July by Special Counsel Robert Mueller for lying to the FBI, had a much more prominent and important role on the Trump team than the White House has portrayed. Evidence exists that George Papadopoulos had a direct line to Donald Trump as late as December, 2016. This implies that the White House has not only lied about the high-level role that Papadopoulos had, but that the President himself is wildly misreporting the facts when he stated that “Few people knew the young, low level volunteer named George”.
(..)
In September, 2016, Papadopoulos and George Gigicos, former Trump White House Scheduling and Advance Director met with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias in New York. A Bloomberg article in August, 2017 described Gigicos as “a loyal and trusted aide who is well liked at the White House.”
In November, 2016, after Donald Trump was declared the winner of the election, Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos tweeted his congratulations, underscoring how important of a role Papadopoulos plays for Greece-US relations.
Later that year, in December, Papadopoulos went back to Greece as a representative of the President-elect Donald Trump and had two highly significant meetings. First, he met with the Greek Defense Minister, as seen in the picture below.
(..)
Secondly, Papadopoulos met with Ieronymos II, the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece. The Archbishop asked Mr. Papadopoulos to “convey his wishes to the new President of the United States for a successful term”, suggesting that Papadopoulos had a direct line of communication with Donald Trump.
On January 20, Inauguration day, Panos Kammenos had a meeting with former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Papadopoulos. It is unclear whether Preibus and Papadopoulos met with the Defense Minister as a duo or separately.

Stupid watergate keeps on giving.quote:Rick Gates Failed to Disclose Second Passport, U.S. Tells Judge
Rick Gates failed to disclose he had a second passport until three days after he surrendered to face charges with Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman that they hid their work as agents of Ukraine and laundered millions of dollars, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors for Special Counsel Robert Mueller cited that omission as one of several reasons they oppose Gates’s request to ease his bail terms, which confine him to his home in Richmond, Virginia, with electronic monitoring. Gates asked the judge to end the monitoring and allow him to travel around the U.S. and internationally.
The prosecutors said Gates’s lawyers didn’t tell them until Thursday about the second passport, even though he represented that he only had one when he pleaded not guilty in federal court in Washington on Monday.
Gates’s lawyers said in their request Thursday that he would be surrendering an additional passport, which had been pending, as well as another travel document.
quote:Trump breaches boundaries by saying DOJ should be ‘going after’ Democrats
President Trump on Friday repeatedly called on the Department of Justice and FBI to investigate his Democratic political opponents, a breach of the traditional executive branch boundaries designed to prevent the criminal justice system from becoming politicized.
Trump urged federal law enforcement to “do what is right and proper” by launching criminal probes of former presidential rival Hillary Clinton and her party — a surprising use of his bully pulpit considering he acknowledged a day earlier that presidents are not supposed to intervene in such decisions.

Komaan.
