De eerste keer bij zo'n aankondiging dacht ik dat ze Aliens vonden. Nu zal het wel om een planeet van type X22 gaan die om eenzon van type B13 cirkelt. Iets dat pas 33 keer eerder is waargenomen oid.

Nee, de subsidie aanvraag moet binnenkort weer goedgekeurd worden. Ik hoop dat Trump deze onzin stopt, de NASA is obsoleet geworden.

De Amerikaanse ruimteorganisatie NASA zal straks tijdens een persconferentie een nieuwe ontdekking aankondigen. Dat schrijft The Independent. Het zou om een nieuwe planeet gaan.

Er is voorlopig maar heel weinig geweten over wat NASA zal onthullen, maar volgens verschillende bronnen zou het gaan om de ontdekking van een planeet die niet rond onze zon draait, een zogenaamde exoplaneet.

Exoplaneten zijn de grootste hoop voor buitenaards leven. De afgelopen jaren zijn er al verschillende planeten ontdekt die veel gelijkenissen vertonen met de aarde en waarop leven misschien mogelijk is. Mogelijk komt NASA straks op de proppen met een nieuwe 'aarde-achtige' planeet.

Om 13.00u (19.00u Belgische tijd) start de persconferentie in New York. Verschillende gerenommeerde wetenschappers zijn uitgenodigd en de volledige bijeenkomst wordt ook live gestreamd op de website van NASA.

Maar er worden toch regelmatig exoplaneten ontdekt, daarvoor geven ze dan toch ook niet speciaal een persconferentie. Ik ben in elk geval wel benieuwd naar wat ze morgen gaan bekend maken.

The discovery may have profound implications for the search for extraterrestrial life beyond the solar system.

Erg om de hoek ook, 39 lichtjaar.. Daar zouden probes heen kunnen in de toekomst.

7 planeten met mogelijk water? Zal wel bier zijn....

Wederom een planeet in de levensvatbare rangen (volgens onze begrippen). Hoop theater maar weinig concreets (vind ik)

Dit is echt non-nieuws. Er zijn al zoveel van dat soort planeten gevonden.
