Hmm is dat wel zo? China zit niet in de TPP deal toch. Dus die zijn juist blij want het gaat makkelijker worden om nu deals te maken met omringende landen die er wel in zaten.

China zelf wordt ook steeds duurder en is sowieso al niet meer DE plek om dingen te produceren. (veel werk gaat nu naar Vietnam). Ze bereiden zich daar al jaren op voor.

En, wellicht heeft een positief effect op de economie in de VS, maar niet direct denk ik. Want als productie idd terug gaat naar de VS dan zal dat een aantal jaar duren voordat dit kan starten. Je moet tenslotte eerst fabrieken gaan bouwen (investeren dus) voordat je resultaat kan gaan zien.

Ik denk juist dat alle snelle veranderingen die Trump doorvoert initieel gaan zorgen voor een stijging in de werkloosheid bijvoorbeeld.

Laten we eens recappen wat Trump eigenlijk wil:

1. (Productie)banen terughalen naar de VS, dus oude fabrieken heropenen. Amerikaanse producten weer "Made In USA". Daarvoor moet Trump aantrekkelijke voorwaarden scheppen, en dat gaat de staat geld kosten.

2. Defensie fors uitbreiden. Dat gaat de staat ook geld kosten.

3. ObamaCare terugdraaien. Dat zou in eerste instantie geld opleveren, maar het is nog volledig onduidelijk welk alternatief er aangeboden zou worden. Slechts een tijdelijke meevaller voor de staatskas dus.

4. De belastingen voor bedrijven fors verlagen. Amerika staat al bekend als een land wat gemiddeld gezien weinig belastingen per inwoner of per bedrijf ontvangt. Dus die staatsinkomsten gaan nog verder omlaag.

5. Protectionisme opbouwen voor bedrijven in de VS en internationale handel daarmee onaantrekkelijker maken voor het buitenland. Dat gaat de VS duidelijk geld kosten.

Ik zie alleen maar zaken waar de VS, als land met al de grootste staatsschuld ter wereld (it's yuuuge, believe me, the biggest in the world), zich alleen maar verder terug richting het welvaartsniveau van 2008/2009 gaat ontwikkelen.

Denk je? China is inmiddels economisch al zo ver ontwikkeld dat de productie niet meer de voornaamste industrie voor dat land is. Sterker nog, Chinese bedrijven zijn hard bezig fabrieken buiten China te plaatsen.

Dat valt allemaal nog maar te bezien. Ik denk dat de VS met de huidige politieke koers eerst weer een flinke klap moet krijgen voordat er weer mogelijkheid op herstel is. Te veel volatiliteit, te veel onzekerheid.
