Yeah, we’ll say it: Here’s some pretty, pretty, pretty good news.
Curb Your Enthusiasm will return for a ninth season, nearly five years after Larry David’s curmudgeonly HBO comedy aired its Season 8 finale. HBO announced the news Tuesday.

No word yet on how many episodes, when the new season will premiere, which famous faces will guest-star or how often Susie will throw Larry out of her house in anger.

“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” Casey Bloys, president, HBO programming, said in a statement. The official release also included David’s thoughts on the new episodes: “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.'”

Two years ago, Bloys’ predecessor Michael Lombardo told reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press tour that they shouldn’t count out another installment of the Seinfeld co-creator’s HBO series. “I said, ‘So Larry, should I emotionally get Curb out of my head?’ He says, ‘No, no, no.’ As long as he’s still thinking about it, we have a place for him.”

Orphan Black Renewed for Fifth and Final Season by BBC America

The culmination of Clone Club is on the calendar: Orphan Black will end after an upcoming fifth season, BBC America announced Thursday.

The 10-episode Season 5 will air sometime in 2017.

“We are excited to deliver an epic conclusion to the tale of Sarah and her clone sisters,” co-creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson said via statement. “The past four seasons have been a phenomenal adventure, and we are eternally grateful to our loyal fans who have loved the twists and thrills of our weird little show. HBO has done an about-face on Vinyl, cancelling the low-rated rock-and-roll drama just months after it was renewed.

“After careful consideration, we have decided not to proceed with a second season of Vinyl,” HBO said in a statement. “Obviously, this was not an easy decision. We have enormous respect for the creative team and cast for their hard work and passion on this project.”
The move comes after HBO announced in April that series creator Terence Winter would not be returning in Season 2. He was slated to be replaced by new showrunner Scott Z. Burns.

Despite the series notching just 764,000 viewers in its February premiere, HBO renewed Vinyl for a second season days after its launch. The series centered on Bobby Cannavale’s Richie Finestra, a 1970s New York music exec trying to make a career out of the city’s diverse music scene.
In addition to being his third collaboration with HBO, Vinyl marked Winter’s third team-up with executive producer Martin Scorsese. The two previously worked together on Boardwalk Empire and the 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street.

12 Monkeys Renewed for Season 3

Time will continue to twist for 12 Monkeys: Syfy has renewed the time-travel drama for a third season, EW.com reports.

Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes. In a quote to the site, executive producer Terry Matalas called Season 3 “even more twisty and emotional” than what has come before in the series, which is based on the 1995 Bruce Willis movie.

12 Monkeys airs Mondays at 9/8c; it returns with new episodes on July 11.

Light ’em if you got ’em, because AMC’s Preacher has already been renewed for Season 2.
What’s more, the supernatural drama’s sophomore season will run a heavenly 13 episodes (to bow in 2017), versus its freshman 10.

This Thursday at 9/8c, AMC will air a Preacher catch-up marathon of Season 1’s first five episodes. Episode 6 then premieres this Sunday at 9.

Uncle Buck Cancelled at ABC

Promising ratings, be damned: ABC has pulled the plug on freshman comedy Uncle Buck.

A network insider confirms to TVLine that the Mike Epps sitcom, which drew strong ratings when it premiered last month, will not be returning for a second season. Tuesday’s Season 1 closer will serve as the show’s series finale.

Co-star James Lesure shared the news with fans on Twitter early Wednesday.

Uncle Buck‘s June 14 debut notched a surprisingly robust 5.2 million total viewers and a 1.5 rating, delivering ABC’s largest audience in the Tuesday time slot since December of 2014 and the best demo number in eight months. TVLine readers, however, gave the movie adaptation an average grade of “D+.”

Tuesday’s finale attracted 3.4 million viewers and a 1.0 rating, both series lows.

The cable network has cancelled the drama Hunters after one season, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Adapted from Whitley Streiber’s best-selling novel Alien Hunter and executive-produced by Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead), the 13-episode series chronicled a Philadelphia cop’s search for his vanished wife — an odyssey that led him to a clandestine government organization that hunts a sect of ruthless, possibly extraterrestrial terrorists. It starred Nathan Phillips (The Bridge), Britne Oldford (American Horror Story) and Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck).

Hunters premiered to just 540,000 total viewers in April. The show’s season series finale airs Monday at 12 am/11 pm central. (Yes, you read that correctly.)

Netflix is ready to raid the Rayburn family closet for more skeletons: The streaming giant has renewed Bloodline for Season 3, TVLine has learned.

The 10-episode third season will premiere in 2017. Confirmed to return are series regulars Kyle Chandler, Sissy Spacek, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, and Norbert Leo Butz.

“[EPs Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler] have created a riveting family saga featuring one of the most talented ensembles in the history of television. We can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds for the all-too-human Rayburns,” said Cindy Holland, Vice President of Original Content at Netflix, in a statement.

Back in May, prior to the launch of the drama’s second season, Chandler joked to TVLine that the Rayburns had enough secrets to keep the series going “until I’m 92.”
