Besides the credit cards acceptance is quite low, so you should be looking for a debit card anyway (Of the Maestro brand, as this is the most accepted one).
About the banks: ABN, ING and Rabobank have a combined market share of approximately 90% in the retail banking sector. As a result, their offerings are very comparable and competition is almost non-existent. Unfortunately the banks are not too eager to open accounts for foreign nationals, therefore I recommend sticking with whatever bank offers you to actually open an account. Best chances at ING, although it can greatly vary from branch to branch.
