What was unique about Tay was that she was going to be taught entirely from her interactions with other people on the internet. It was an exercise Microsoft partook in to improve its customer service software as well as a huge PR opportunity.

Ik heb niet alles gelezen, dus wellicht dat iemand al een soortgelijke reactie geplaatst heeft.
Maar automatisering is niet een ramp, hoogstens een logisch gevolg.
Het wordt wel een ramp, omdat zij die aan de macht zijn maar niet kunnen inzien dat het monetaire/economische stelsel niet erop gericht is voor zulk soort veranderingen.
De economie zoals wij die kennen is per definitie pas goed functioneel als alles zo inefficient mogelijk is.
Dat wil zeggen, als wij alles duurzaam zouden maken, is het spel voorbij.
immers de economie is tegenwoordig gewoonweg de consumptiemaatschappij, wat zoveel wil zeggen als : goedkope meuk zoveel mogelijk dat zo snel mogelijk vervangen moet worden.
Dan verdienen de hoge heren immers pas "geld'.
Automatisering is tegenovergesteld van zo'n systeem, dingen worden geproduceerd waardoor je een hoop banen gewoonweg niet meer nodig zal hebben.
Hoe meer mensen zonder geld zitten, hoe minder consumenten, des te minder bedrijven etcetc.
Edit : skynet achtige ontwikkelingen zijn niet onmogelijk overigens, in de zin van 1 systeem dat heel veel systemen zelf kan aansturen en beinvloeden, maar bewustzijn in zo'n systeem?.. nee dat duurt allemaal nog wel even.

It costs approximately 50,000 yuan to hire a robot worker and then several hundred yuan each month to cover electricity and repairs. While this amounts to a big saving compared to hiring a human employee, it looks like robots aren't ready to replace us just yet.
According to the boss, the only thing the robots were good for was getting customers through the door. "The robots can attract plenty of customers, but they definitely can't reduce the need for human labor."
Zhang Yun, vice-principal of Guangdong University of Technology, explained that while robots were excellent at improving productivity in the manufacturing industry where tasks are repetitive, they were unable to perform well in fields where frequent human interaction was necessary.

Developments in AI will bring a number of societal issues, according to Coplin. "We have to be ready to deal with them. We have to understand that they exist. We have to start being mindful about the processes we put in place."
Scientists like Stephen Hawking and technology leaders like PayPal founder and Tesla CEO Elon Musk have warned that AI could pose a threat to humanity if it is developed in the wrong way, while Oxford professor Nick Bostrom believes superintelligent machines could turn against us if they outsmart us.
"The way in which we choose to use AI is a reflection of humans, the people, not the machines themselves," Coplin said. "We are locked in this endless cycle of pointless rhetoric about humans vs machines. We are aware machines can beat us at chess. They can beat us at Jeopardy. Now they can beat us at Go. They’re going to steal our jobs. Hang on! Stop. When was this ever the dialogue for what we did with technology. Technology is here to augment what we do. Support us to extend our capability."
