I've found the most Useless Discussion ever: what system do you prefer? The inferiour imperial system, like the countries who use them or the superiour metric system, so the measurements do make sense?

I'm a (math) teacher, and explaining the metric system to the kids is a tough thing to do. But teaching them the imperial system is an absolute nightmare, I guess.

What's even more confusing is the way clothing is marketed. It seems each country uses its own systems parallel to each other, using different "measurements" for different types of clothing. It's a complete mess and hardly anyone can make sense of it .

Also, when Canada switched from imperial to metric back in 1983, the switch contributed in an event that turned a Boeing 767 into a glider.quote:

In my business we use both systems and both it has its (dis)advantages.

So you use miles for distances, even though the signing is in kilometers. That must be confusing. Same goes for the other stuff, mixing metric and imperial isn't making life any easier.quote:

The metric system is obviously the better system because contratry to the imperial system it actually makes sense.
