quote:'Coach' Reboot Canceled by NBC
NBC has canceled its revival of Coach Variety reports. The network gave the revival of the 1990s sitcom a 13 episode straight-to-series order last spring. The series was slated to premiere midseason. The first episode had already filmed. Allegedly the network was not happy with the show's creative direction.
Coach may not be completely dead. Universal, the studio associated with the project, is reportedly shopping it to other networks and streaming services. Perhaps it will even return to NBC. The network gave drama Emerald City a straight to series order, canceled it before production began, then revived it and gave it another straight-to-series order.

quote:Less than a week after Lucy Lawless re-publicized her desire to return to the world of Xena: Warrior Princess, it looks like that universe is nearly definitely coming back to the small screen.
The show’s original executive producers, Rob Tapertand and Sam Raimi, are already involved in the reboot. No word yet on how the original Xena actress Lucy Lawless would be involved, though THR says that insiders would like to have her as a part of the project. The report notes the new Xena would have “the charisma and charm of Lawless”, combined with “the smarts of The Hunger Games’ Katniss”.
The character debuted on “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” in 1995, and was originally meant to die off in her first appearance. So why not “Xena: Warrior Princess”?
“I didn’t say I wanted to be (Xena again) – I said, “They should reinvigorate it”.
A reboot of Xena: Warrior Princess starring Lucy Lawless could be headed to television screens next year.
As for the tone of the series, it seems they’re aiming for something with a somewhat more high-brow vibe when compared to the campy-fun original. The timing couldn’t be better on that front; Lawless, who is working with fellow Xena alum Bruce Campbell on Starz’s Ash vs. the Evil Dead, only recently made comments at Comic-Con about the need to bring the character back. I hope it happens! But that’s a p*ss-poor excuse anymore.
Hero Complex can confirm that a “Xena” reboot is in the works for NBC.
“I don’t know what the hold-up is; it’s about who has got the rights”, she added.
Now Raimi, Tapert and the rest are on the hunt for a new writer to bring a fresh take. Over at CBS, the network will launch a TV remake of Limitless with Bradley Cooper attached and will bow its Rush Hour adaptation come midseason.
