Ik vond haar wel tof eigenlijk. Ze heeft eigenhandig de opdracht gered door op het laatste moment nog een heleboel boeken te verkopen. En ik vond het ook wel stoer dat ze in de boardroom zonder veel omhaal toegaf dat ze Richard alleen maar subteamleider had gemaakt om hem rustig te houden met een titeltje. At the house, the off-duty candidates are interrupted by Lord Sugar, who sets them his latest challenge - open a discount store and, in two days, turn products into profit.
Dispatched to Manchester, one team's squabbling begins en route as they struggle to order popular brand-name products to tempt customers through the door. Haggling their way through the wholesalers, both teams stock up on unbranded products where the profits really lie.
Shutters up on their discount stores - squabbles over customers and attempts to poach each other's business see tempers flare. Elsewhere, instead of flogging bargains, trading insults becomes the order of the day.
As both teams try to barter with the bargain hunters, it's a race to the finish to see who can buy, sell and replenish the most stock in their pop-up shops.
With assets counted and sales totted up, in the boardroom it's time to take stock. Personalities clash, insults are thrown, and for one unlucky person, Lord Sugar's patience finally runs out.

vond het deze aflevering onbegrijpelijk dat selena niet ontslagen werd.(dat is toch die blonde?) Wat zou ik me kapot ergeren aan haar als ze in mijn team zat zeg. Ik denk trouwens dat de uiteindelijke winnaar in het winnende team van afgelopen week zit. Die teamleider is sterk, maar ook die schaatsende verkoper en die vrouw zijn stuk voor stuk erg goed.

Er komt in tv seizoen 2016-2017 een nieuwe versie van de USA variant. Dan wel met normale kandidaten of celebs (gok celebs). Deze is echter niet met Donald Trump sinds hij is ontslagen na zijn opmerkingen over mexicanen in aanloop naar de verkiezingen. De nieuwe versie is met Arnold Schwarzenegger als host.quote:

1ste serie werd zo'n 10 jaar geleden op BBC2 uitgezonden (tussen 7 en 8 uur in de avond, nederlandse tijd), dit was vlak voordat de BBC met een eigen versie kwam (waarvan de eerste 2 series op BBC2 werden uitgezonden, waarna het naar BBC1 vertrok).quote:Op vrijdag 20 november 2015 07:34 schreef computergirl het volgende:

Latere series hebben ze ook uitgezonden op de BBC, maar uiteindelijk helemaal verplaatst naar de nachtelijke uren (ze hebben nog steeds de rechten, want zo af en toe word er nog weleens een Celeb versie midden in de nacht uitgezonden).

It's week eight and the candidates are taken back in time to the Museum of Childhood. Lord Sugar instructs the teams to become party planners, with just two days to set up and host a children's party for some high-spending clients.
With a £2,000 budget, the candidates must throw an event to remember, keeping an eye on profits but also pleasing the punters. Contending with tricky teens and hard-to-please parents, both teams have a challenge on their hands.
For one project manager it's a dream gig. But with grand plans for the teens to have a blast, it's not long before a massive oversight threatens to derail their task completely. Elsewhere on the team there's a party pooper, as one candidate's attempts to keep a tight rein on the budget risk spoiling the day for the birthday girl.
On the other team, efforts to make merry with the kids fall flat when an overzealous double act lead a lacklustre assault course. Things go from bad to worse with a mix up over the birthday cake and a blunder with the party gifts. Faced with disgruntled customers, the blame game starts and the party falls flat.
As the figures are added up and the profits announced, in the boardroom it's a celebration for some. For the losers, an indignant Lord Sugar takes an unprecedented step, and for someone the party is most definitely over.

Week nine and the stakes are raised as the eight remaining candidates are summoned to the top of the South Bank Tower. For the next task, Lord Sugar throws the teams into the London property market to sell mid-range and high-end properties to the city's most discerning buyers.
It's boom or bust as the teams have two days to fight it out to see who can sell the most properties and be rewarded the most commission to win the task.
Acting as real-estate agents for million-pound developments, one team goes on the charm offensive to win over clients, while the other team's overfamiliar approach fails to strike them a big deal.
As the teams compete to lure in leads, the sales patter goes into overdrive. Some try the soft sell, while others take the hard line, leading to deals being done and lost.
With each candidate out for themselves, it's dog eat dog as they race to cross the line. Exploiting London's booming market comes easily for some as sales lead to rewards. For others, it's a nightmare, as failed attempts to strike a deal mean they finish empty handed.
It's drama in the boardroom as the pressure gets too much for one candidate. As tempers flare and a heated confrontation ensues, Lord Sugar is left unimpressed. As his patience finally runs out, another candidate faces their final boardroom as they hear the words 'You're fired'.
