Herlings beide manches gewonnen maar vrijdag en zaterdag moet het gaan gebeuren.

The AMA Responds To Alessi/Tickle Incident
During last night’s round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome, Mike Alessi was involved in an incident with Broc Tickle that drew the attention of the AMA.
During their heat race, Alessi was chasing Tickle and midway into a turn Alessi center punched Tickle, sending both riders to the ground and ultimately to the semis.
Afterwards, Alessi called it “just a racing incident” and said it was “water under the bridge”, however, AMA/FIM race officials and Tickle apparently thought otherwise.
After the race, the AMA fined Alessi $4000 and put him on probation for the remainder of the season.
Here’s what the AMA sent us when we requested verification.
“After a review of the incident that took place between rider Mike Alessi and rider Broc Tickle in the 450SX heat race, the race director determined that Alessi violated rule A2, c. 17 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, rulebook. As a result of this violation, the race director assessed Alessi a penalty of $4,000 and placed him on probation for the remainder of the 2014 season. There was no appeal.”
Alessi and Tickle both qualified for the main event through the semis and Alessi finished sixth in the main while Tickle was seventh.

LOSAIL – Motorcrosser Jeffrey Herlings heeft meteen in de eerste wedstrijd van het nieuwe WK-seizoen laten zien waarom het hem is te doen: het prolongeren van zijn titel.
De 19-jarige Elsendorper schreef zaterdag in Losail de Grote Prijs van Qatar 2014 in de MX2-klasse op zijn lange erelijst bij.
Toch was tweevoudig wereldkampioen op zijn KTM iets minder dominant dan zijn supporters van hem zijn gewend. In de eerste manche moest Herlings de Fransman Dylan Ferrandis (Kawasaki) net voor zich voor zich dulden, hoewel hij met afstand de snelste ronde reed. Het verschil op de finishlijn was iets meer dan 0,3 seconde. Glenn Coldenhoff uit Heesch werd op zijn Suzuki als derde afgevlagd.
In de tweede verliep wel alles naar wens voor Herlings. Alleen de Zwitser Arnaud Tonus kon zijn spoor redelijk volgen. Het uiteindelijke verschil was 1,2 seconde. De Amerikaan Thomas Covington eindigde op een ruime afstand als derde. Ferrandis had aan de zesde plaats genoeg om in het dagklassement tweede te worden achter Herlings. Coldenhoff, die in de tweede heat buiten de top tien eindigde, werd zevende, goed voor 29 WK-punten.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider Jeffrey Herlings had probably his toughest GP victory in his career last weekend as he went 2-1 and claimed yet another GP win. The Dutchman had bad starts and struggled in the difficult conditions. Here are his comments from the podium press conference on Saturday night.
Q: Jeffrey, you got the win, but are you unhappy about the performance? How do you feel?
Herlings: I made it tough for myself. I had terrible starts and it was just me, not the bike. Jordi had some good starts and I had good starts on Friday, so it’s just me and I need to improve that. I haven’t spent much time on the bike in the last six months, like the shoulder problems then my leg, and it was difficult to come through the pack. The first moto I was close to winning and second moto it was again difficult to pass and my riding wasn’t good at all and I really wasn’t happy with that. I will go home to Holland and ride a little more. Try and regroup and train. I will be stronger soon and get some better results.
Q: Getting this GP out of the way and a little more bike time, that will obviously help you for a better performance in Thailand next weekend, or not?
Herlings: I think Thailand is better for passing. In Qatar it was hard to pass and the track in Thailand will be more difficult. I am seven points ahead in the championship points, and got the overall and I will go to Thailand and put KTM back on the box.
Q: You had to fight hard for your wins, a lot of guys kept you thinking?
Herlings: Second moto Febvre passed me, and I am not used to that and I have respect for him he is a clean rider. I had to work hard to get him back. I noticed I missed that extra five minutes at the end of the race, but I will get used to it.
Q: Do you feel like you are a giant and all these guys are like little people trying to stick pins in you and pull you down?
Herlings: For sure (it is difficult being the top guy), the other competitors are all trying to beat me or pass me and I know that. I have won two titles in a row and won a lot of GPs and its hard with the pressure, but it’s my job and I have a great team behind me and I am sure I can do it and if I stay injury free I should be okay and I got it on top of the box and I just need more time to ride.
Q: What about Max Anstie and his performance. Did he surprise you?
Herlings: Max (Anstie) rode a great GP, I was closing on him and I was three or four seconds off, but I came from 15th and he took the holeshot, his bike is really strong, maybe the strongest bike out there and he is coming from a slower bike in the Suzuki to the bike he has this year. He did a great job and obviously DNFed both motos, but at the end of the day I won and that’s in the books.
Q: What made the circuit difficult, to come back from your bad starts?
Herlings: I had big problems overtaking the riders, couldn’t find lines and was riding badly. When I came in after the second moto the team said I did a good job, but I didn’t, I told them I didn’t do a good job. I am used to beating these guys easily and it’s strange battling hard against them. I just need more time and I want to be better.

Anstie had in een interview gezegd dat hij nog steeds de beste was want hij versloeg Herlings op de 85cc in 2005 ofzo. 
Motorcrosser Jeffrey Herlings heeft zijn goede start in het wereldkampioenschap vandaag een passend vervolg gegeven. Na zijn overwinning in de openingswedstrijd in Qatar was de Brabander ook succesvol in Thailand. In Si Richa won hij beide manches in de MX2. .
In de eerste race bleef hij zijn landgenoot Glenn Coldenhoff voor. In de tweede manche klopte Herlings de Brit Max Anstie. Coldenhoff eindigde hierin als vierde.
Herlings verstevigde zijn leidende de positie in de tussenstand. De titelverdediger heeft nu 97 punten. De Fransman Dylan Ferrandis volgt met 74. Coldenhoff staat derde met 69 punten.

Herjan Brakke vervangt geblesseerde Tommy Searle bij CLS Kawasaki
MX Active: Hoe is deze samenwerking tot stand gekomen?
Harry Nolte: Aangezien Herjan Brakke dit jaar uitkomt namens het HB Gebben Kawasaki Team heb ik op eigen initiatief contact opgenomen met de manager van Herjan Brakke.
MX Active: Wat vindt jij ervan dat een Nederlandse rijder is uitgenodigd om op de motor van Searle, de GP van Brazilië te rijden?
Harry Nolte: Het is goed voor de Nederlandse motorsport dat er ook in de GP’s buiten Europa Nederlandse deelname is in de MX1 klasse.
MX Active: Heeft Herjan Brakke al gereden op de CLS Kawasaki motor?
Harry Nolte: Op dit moment heeft Herjan nog niet op de CLS Kawaski motor gereden. Volgende week gaat Herjan de motor testen, en zullen wij de motor afstellen naar zijn wensen.
MX Active: Zal hij in de ONK's ook op de CLS Kawasaki gaan rijden?
Harry Nolte: Herjan Brakke zal tijdens het ONK in Mill aan de start zal staan op de CLS Kawasaki KX450F. Zo kan hij wedstrijd ritme opdoen om vervolgens een week later goed voorbereid aan de start te verschijnen tijdens de GP van Brazilië.
Op zondag 16 maart 2014 is de openingswedstrijd voor het Open Nederlands Kampioenschap Motocross voor de klassen MX1, MX2, 125cc en 85cc in Emmen.

Herlings zou rijden in Mantova dit weekend maar heeft zich afgemeld omdat hij ziek is.
