In The Works At NBC
A "Chicago Fire" spinoff is reportedly in development at NBC, as originally reported by Deadline.com. The series would follow the Chicago police department like "Chicago Fire" follows members of the Chicago fire department.
NBC declined to comment on the story. A representative for Wolf Films could not be reached as of publication.
It is unusual that a first season show would get a spinoff, but "Chicago Fire" has been a bright spot for the struggling Peacock network. The series premiered to just under 7 million viewers, then dipped a bit before getting back into the game. Its most recent episode had 6.4 million viewers and a 1.7 rating. NBC was tops during November sweeps for the first time in years, but in a span of three months the network fell way behind its competitors. During February sweeps, NBC placed after Spanish-language network Univision.
"Chicago Fire" stars Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney. The series is executive produced by "Law & Order" guru Dick Wolf.
"Chicago Fire" airs Wednesdays, 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
Dat agenten duo wat eerst hielp bij de instorting en later bij die brand was zijn inderdaad gecast in rollen van de spin-off.quote:

quote:'Chicago Fire' spinoff gets series order
Chicago Fire has only been on the air for one season.
And it isn’t even a hit, exactly.
But NBC is moving forward with the spinoff anyway!
The network has just picked up Chicago P.D., a companion series to the soapy firefighter drama that proved to be a surprisingly sturdy 10 p.m. performer this season for the network. Fire has averaged 7.8 million viewers and a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating including seven days of DVR on Wednesday nights this season. And clearly executive producer Dick Wolf (the Law & Order franchise) knows a thing or two about how to build one show into a franchise.
Here’s the official description of the new show:
District 21 of the Chicago Police Department is made up of two distinctly different groups. There are the uniformed cops who patrol the beat and go head to head with the city’s street crimes. And there’s the Intelligence Unit, the team that combats the city’s major offenses – organized crime, drug trafficking, high profile murders and beyond. Leading the Intelligence team is Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), a man not against skirting the law in the pursuit of justice. Demanding and tough, only those who can take the heat survive under Voight’s command. Take Detective Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) – despite his troubled history with his boss, Dawson has ambitions of running the unit… so if that means facing off against Voight every day, he’ll persevere. From the street cops with dreams of moving up to the elite crew who are already in, “life on the job” is a daily challenge. The enormous responsibilities that come with the territory take an emotional toll, as we’ll find when we follow the personal lives of our characters outside the walls of District 21. From Emmy-winning producer Dick Wolf and the team behind “Chicago Fire” comes Chicago PD, a gripping, character-driven new police drama about those who put it all on the line to serve and protect.
Volgens mij was de aflevering van deze week Chicago PD...heb afgezien van de vrouw in het riool weinig "fire" actie gezien..quote:
