via rock-a-rollaquote:Queens Of The Stone Age will release their long-awaited new album this June via new home Matador, loaded with surprising guest appearances.
Entitled …Like Clockwork, the band’s sixth studio album features a reunion of the Songs For The Deaf line-up, with Dave Grohl back behind the kit and Mark Lanegan on guest vocal duties, plus an appearance by Kyuss/Mondo Generator/Vista Chino/former Queens man Nick Oliveri.
The album also features Jon Theodore and the recently departed Joey Castillo on drums, Trent Reznor, Jake Shears, James Lavelle, Alex Turner, and Elton John (!). They join the current core QOTSA line-up of Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita and Michael Shuman.
Homme describes the record as “an audio documentary of a manic year,” and is the band’s first album of new material since 2007’s Era Vulgaris, and their first on Matador Records. …Like Clockwork was produced by Josh Homme and QOTSA, and recorded by Mark Rankin at Pink Duck Studios, Burbank, California.
The band have also lined up an extensive tour in support of the record, with dates to be announced shortly, including an appearances at this year’s Download Festival. The band’s last live appearances in 2011 saw them perform their self-titled debut in its entirety.

Yes, fijne plaat.quote:
