Following the news that the 2010 edition of Birmingham’s acclaimed annual Supersonic Festival will be headlined by NAPALM DEATH, SWANS, GODFLESH, HALLOGALLO and MELT BANANA, Capsule are excited to announce the final few acts who will be appearing at this year’s festival, as well as reveal highlights from the incredible film, talks and visual arts programme.
Latest additions to the Supersonic line-up include the awesome live orchestra, Chrome Hoof, experimental hardcore band Ruins, the heavy riffage of Dethscalator and the melancholic pop sounds of Daniel O’Sullivan’s new project, Moth Lite. Also, a special AV set from the hugely evocative Barn Owl, the psych/folk/electronic sounds of Health & Efficiency, regular jazz meets free improv in the form of Steve Tromans & Dan Nicholls Duo and Black Sun Drum Corps presenting a percussion parade through the festival, which will combine Supersonic Festival performers and audience members to create a visceral and live massed drumming experience. From metal to avant garde and folk, Supersonic 2010 is set to cement the festival’s reputation as one of the most original and eclectic music festivals in the UK.
Supersonic Festival is renowned not only for the quality and diversity of its music programme, but also for its incredible array of ‘extra-curricular activities’, including Q&A’s, workshops, screenings, art installations and record stalls. This year, highlights include Supersonic Kids’ Gigs, experimental music for little people, Project Pigeon, an incredible project which involves pigeons playing harmonies from the pentatonic scale and an incredible and diverse film programme, including an exclusive screening of Matthew Barney’s ‘Guardian of the Veil’. We’re very proud to announce that The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble has been confirmed for the 2011 Roadburn Festival, set for Thursday, April 14 at the Midi Theatre in Tilburg, Holland.
Formed in 2000 as a project to compose new music for existing silent movies, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, led by Jason Köhnen (Bong-Ra) and Gideon Kiers, proves that there is still something fresh to be created at the nexus of post-rock, jazz and drone, as showcased on stunning albums like the Mutations EP and Here Be Dragons.
Darker than future jazz, yet lighter than doom jazz, the band’s beautiful cinematic soundscapes evoke images of abandoned villages in a post-war eastern european silent film, eerie yet melancholy.
Impressive, profound and organic, the band’s deeply emotional and original trips are a perfect rendition of the ensemble’s live shows. Combining traditional instrumentations (comprising cello, trombone, violin, beats, guitar, bass and vocals sometimes) with existing and / or self-developed software, continuously blending and mutating, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble creates an organic and electronic performance, supported by visuals which add to and interact with the frequencies of said instruments.

Atlanta trio Zoroaster have never been content with sticking to one sound or formula and albums like Dog Magic and Voice of Saturn showcase a band operating within the realms of doom metal, sludge and psychedelic rock but showing a serious tendency to meander. Both records show hints of a band that can be both monolithic and atmospheric but also swing like vintage Sabbath at the very same time. When all three factors converge, Zoroaster is capable of delivering the coolest, heavy-duty, stoner odysseys this side of OM, Sleep and Electric Wizard. However, Zoroaster‘s vision comes to full fruition on their latest album, Matador, still very much in the doom-mold, but now with more and shorter songs.
Sometimes a band can linger in the shadows of their peers and be overlooked, and it’s easy to forget that some bands need a little more time to develop than others. In case of Zoroaster, their considerable growth over the years has placed them in the pantheon of psychedelic doom, up on Mount Collosus, alongside their brethren.

Heeft iemand Black Masses van Electric Wizard al gehoord? De roadburn twitter doet vermoeden dat er al een kopie beschikbaar is binnen bepaalde kringen. Hoop dat ik hem voor de 31e kan horen want ze gaan er geloof ik veel materiaal van spelen live.
Zodadelijk richting Birmingham voor Supersonic. Erg veel zin in, voornamelijk voor Godflesh, Swans en Hallogallo maar niets is leuker dan je laten verrassen door een band waar je nog nooit van gehoord hebt..

We have been busy setting the lineup of the festival, and as you all have seen, there have been some exciting announcements lately. We’re extremely honored to have Wardruna, very excited about Candlemass celebrating 25 years of doom with us, and thrilled about Godflesh performing their landmark debut-album, Streetcleaner, in its entirety, including the Tiny Tears EP. It will be the first time ever that Justin Broadrick and Benny Green will perform the album in full and in track order.
We’re fully aware that all of you are craving more band confirmations right now, especially with the announcement of our pre-sales, starting on Saturday, November 27th in mind. Please bear with us, as we’re currently finalizing the last details with lots of bands, and hope to release more confirmations in very short order. Sunn O)))‘s curated event at Roadburn 2011 is shaping up nicely as well. Greg Anderson and Stephen O’Malley are currently talking to their personally preferred artists and bands, and expect an update soon, too!
You might have noticed that we haven’t announced any bands for the additional Afterburner event yet. What’s going on? We have invited Black Mountain to headline this year’s Afterburner, and based upon our gut feeling, we think it might happen. This means that we’ll be using Roadburn‘s main stage for the Afterburner as well, as well as the Green Room and Bat Cave. We’re currently looking into all the logistics, and completing the extended lineup. We just need an extra week or two to get it all done properly.
There have been rumors about Blood Farmers and Black Pyramid, and we are delighted to say that both of them are indeed playing the Afterburner. Consider this a preview, and there will be an official announcement soon. It’s also true that we’re talking to Coffins, but it’s not finalized yet. We’re are also looking into ticketing for the Afterburner, and there’s a good chance that we’ll be offering a 4-day pass for those who want to experience to entire festival, as well as offering an additional Afterburner ticket as always.

Heb dan toch Black Masses gehoord voor het concert van Electric Wizard vanavond. Klinkt erg goed tot nu toe.
Boh, dat was geniaal. Nieuwe nummers klinken goed live en ze deden gelukkig nog wat oudere dingen zoals Doooooooooopethrone. Moss was ook goed, speelden alleen 3 nummers dus iets te kort.

En toch vind ik Evoken niet echt een band voor op Roadburn eerlijk gezegd... En dan daarbij, ik heb ze al veel te vaak live gezien, ik wil wel eens wat boeienders

Staying deeply rooted in a genre all its own, Yakuza’s existence lies on a metal base with progressive flair, while somehow also incorporating elements of jazz, world beat, and post-rock ambience. Picture (if you can) a mixture of King Crimson, all periods of John Coltrane’s career, Tortoise, and Napalm Death. The end result is captivating, a sound that Rolling Stone, Revolver, Alternative Press, the Chicago Sun Times, the Chicago Tribune, All That Jazz and countless others all agree is refreshingly original, technically proficient, all the while still staying very metal.

Staying deeply rooted in a genre all its own, Yakuza’s existence lies on a metal base with progressive flair, while somehow also incorporating elements of jazz, world beat, and post-rock ambience. Picture (if you can) a mixture of King Crimson, all periods of John Coltrane’s career, Tortoise, and Napalm Death. The end result is captivating, a sound that Rolling Stone, Revolver, Alternative Press, the Chicago Sun Times, the Chicago Tribune, All That Jazz and countless others all agree is refreshingly original, technically proficient, all the while still staying very metal.

San Francisco’s Carlton Melton is centered around former Zen Guerrilla’s Andy Duvall (Guitar/Drums) and Rich Millman (Guitar/Synths). Both their albums, Sigillum Luciferi and Relapse Records debut, Ritual Abuse, feature heavy, dark, psychedelic doom that sounds like a thousand pharmaceutical-whacked zombies just escaped from Manchester morgue wailing away at an all night party after a pharmacy-raiding crime spree. At other times, Cough‘s monolthic sound is less warped and hallucinogenic, but strongly suffocationg and claustrophobic, and becomes so densely hateful it’s nearly black metal in its ambience.
Since 2006 the name Wolf People has been uttered with hushed reverence amongst psych heads, record collectors and fervent music enthusiasts in the UK. Their mix of psych rock riffs, blues chops and acid folk eventually bringing them to the attention of legendary US label JAGJAGUWAR (home to Black Mountain, Dinosaur Jr, Oneida etc). The debut LP Steeple released earlier this year is fiercely proud of it’s heritage both musical and cultural, and doesn’t shy away from it’s influences, but that’s not to say it’s not it’s own beast: majestic, heavy and real.
Hailing from New York, White Hills are nothing if not the aural simulation of an LSD freak-out. A jammed up collision of fuzzed-out wah guitars, gonzoid bass riffs and weird electronic noises arranged in a stunning replication of the effects of Owsley’s psychotropic gift to brains everywhere. Roadburn, please be aware that the brown acid isn’t too good, we recommend taking White Hills instead.

The 2011 Roadburn Festival features an extremely special performance by sludge / stoner legends Buzzov*en, set for Thursday, April 14th at the 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland Weedeaters Roadburn appearance is set for Saturday, April 16th.
Formed in 1989 when heavy riffs primarily meant grunge, Buzzov*en brought a particularly virulent malice and filth to their music that often manifested itself in extreme violence at their live shows. Not surprisingly, given their level of intensity and their heavy touring schedule, their lineup was quite volatile and changed frequently. Now remaining original member Kirk Fisher (guitar/vox) has reformed the bands At A Loss lineup with Dixie Dave (Weedeater) on bass, Sleepy Floyd (Sourvein) on guitar and Ramzi (Sourvein) on drums.
In the 12 years Buzzov*en was together, they released 3 LPs (To A Frown, Sore, At A Loss) and 5 EPs along with their legendary Buttrash demo tape and the bootlegged but not officially released
Revelation: Sick Again which was supposed to come out on Hydra Head Records. The influence of the band far exceeds their recorded output though, as they and Eyehategod are the forefathers of sludge / stoner
and their frequent tours spread the sludge gospel far and wide, while spawning countless offspring wherever they roamed.
We feel extremely lucky to be able to bring Buzzov*en to the Roadburn Festival to give everyone a chance to experience their vitriolic riffs and rage filled performance.
Were also very excited to report that Weedeater will play the Saturday Roadburn date, Saturday, April 16th, 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland.
Giving truth to the adage that the south will get high again, Weedeater bring their rip-snortin Sabbath influenced sludge-doom straight to your noggin like a huge bong hit with a whiskey chaser. Plying their southern pride saturated, riffgasms for the last 13 years, the band is a force to be reckoned with, whether simply proselytizing about weed, or more frequently, making social commentary on the brutishness of life.
Shorn of his big toe, but not his will to rock, frontman / bassist Dixie Dave will lead the power trio on an assault of Roadburns stage that is sure to be one of the cant miss performances of the festival. Their new release JasonThe Dragon is scheduled to be released by Southern Lord late in 2010.

Born in 2007 in Port Orchard, Washington, at the hands of multi-instrumentalist T. Dallas Reed (of Mos Generator-fame), Stone Axe channel classic rock. Think of Free, think of Thin Lizzy, the glory days of the heavy 70s. The earliest days of Foghat and AC/DC. Guitarist Reed and singer singer Dru Brinkerhoff take a page of the aformentioned greats playbook and lay down some classic heavy blues riffs and swaggering vocals -nothing fancy, but completely in the pocket and passionately strutting along, showcasing how well they are dialed into that early 70s rock aesthetic.
In their short tenure together, Stone Axe have banged out two eponymously titled full-lengths and more splits, singles and EPs than you can keep up with, through labels like their own Music Abuse Records, Roadburn Records, Ripple Music, Hydro-Phonic and RxEvolution Recordings. Reed handles the recording himself and is always writing, so dont expect them to slow down, either.

Wasifs guitar work whether it be chugging riffs, fuzz-wah leads, or gently shimmering notes, comes straight out of the psych-rock handbook as well (think Nebula as a point of reference). Were delighted to say that this years additional Afterburner event, set for Sunday, April 17th, 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland, has become a full day of the Roadburn Festival. Not only will we be using the main stage to welcome Black Mountain amongst others, but there will be bands playing the Green Room as well, while the Bat Cave will be used for band merchandise.
Were also pleased to announce that Black Mountain, along with Dead Meadow, Blood Farmers, Black Pyramid, Dragontears (playing a second show at Roadburn 2011) and Gomer Pyle been confirmed the 2011 Afterburner. Its also true that were talking to Sourvein and Coffins, but nothing has been finalized yet. We just need an extra week or two to work out all the details but were optimistic about bringing these bands to the Afterburner.
As you all have noticed, the overall vibe of the 2011 Afterburner veers towards the old-school Roadburn festivals, as we have put emphasis on classic psychedelic rock, doom and stoner rock like we used to do in the past. It wasnt deliberately put together this way, it just happened organically, but we think its a perfect opportunity for those who want an introduction to the essence of Roadburn in just one day, rather than attending for the whole weekend. Or, for those who are Roadburn veterans and wish to attend both Roadburn and the Afterburner, it presents a complete sampling of what our festival has come to represent.
Experience has shown us that an overwhelming majority of the people want to enjoy the entire Roadburn Festival experience, including the Afterburner, so we will be offering 4 day-passes, as well as additional (separate) Afterburner tickets as always. Separate tickets for the Afterburner are available for ¤ 25. or the complete 4-day pass for Roadburn and Afterburner is available for ¤ 175. Pre sales will start on Saturday, November 27th.

Roadburn is very excited to report that American doom legends Blood Farmers and psychedelic doomsters Black Pyramid have been confirmed for Roadburn Festival Afterburner, set for Sunday, April 17th, 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland.
With just one offical record, the Blood Farmers established themselves as Americas preeminent horror doom act. Released way back in 1995 on the legendary doom label Hellhound, their eponymous record became an underground legend and kept their name alive for years until they reformed a few years ago.
Their brand of muscular-vocalized classic heavy doom is equal parts New York swagger, supercharged Sabbath riffage, dark and smoky atmosphere combined with a penchant for horror themes (the band is named after a 1972 horror movie Invasion of the Blood Farmers). This is a combination that proved irresistible to doom-heads everywhere. Their record became a touchstone of U.S. doom legend right up there with the Obsessed and St.Vitus, at least among the hardcore followers of the genre. In 2010, they will be gracing the Roadburn stage in one of the most long awaited shows in memory.
Black Pyramid play psychedelic doom metal, with the thick, down-tuned tones of their amplifier worshipping stoner metal contemporaries, but the epic arrangements and classic songwriting of vintage doom acts. The band juxtaposes crushing, triumphant riffs that ring like battle cries with keen instincts for melody and dynamics that showcase their more introspective nature.

LAs Dead Meadow generates a unique brand of earthy, heavy psych that moves far beyond any generic Sabbath-riffage or stonerrock gimmickry. The most fragrant ingredients of Dead Meadow are the bands meandering, grooved-out riff- heavy journeys, and the ability to fuse their obvious appreciation of 60s psychedelifa, vintage hard-rock, blues-folk tunes, ambient space-rock with the the literary excesses of H.P. Lovecraft or J.R.R. Tolkien, and all at considerable volume! Distant, high pitched vocals evoke a deleriously eerie atmosphere that plays off well against the bands smoldering jamming style.
Dragontears, revolving around Lorenzo Woodrose and members of Baby Woodrose and On Trial rarely perform live, and besides a few shows in their homeland, the bands only performance outside of Denmark took place at Roadburn 2009. Dragontears has a penchant for mining the psychedelic sounds of the late 60s (think the 13th Floor Elevators meets Syd Barrett or The Silver Apples meets MC5), as showcased on much acclaimed albums like 2000 Micrograms From Home and Tambourine Freak Machine.
Needless to say that were really excited about Dragontears performing a second show at Roadburn 2011, throwing the afterburner attendees into a vortex of fuzz fueled riffs, and bubbly wah-wah guitars, all manipulated to take us into a hypnotic journey through the center of the mind. Or as the band puts it on their latest album Turn On, Tune In, Fuck Off!!
Hollands Gomer Pyle have caused quite a stir with their latest album, Idiots Savants and stunning live performances. Featuring former 35007 drummer Sander Evers, and firmly rooted in Grunge and Stoner, the band tends also to veer off into heavy rocking jamming psychedelia and full blown 35007 Krautrock territory. Deep space liquid trip guitars and killer riffs lead the way as they travel roads paved by acid drenched rock and old time psych. Things get rhythmically cosmic, keeping a nice rolling groove going as the dual, heavy fuzz guitars and drums explore the cosmos in a high intensity workout.

Led by Mike Scheidts crushing doom riffage and relentless drive, YOB were among the highlights of the 2010 Roadburn Festival this past April. The reunited band played their first ever European shows at the 2010 Roadburn Festival, and the quality and originality of their mind bending doom-metal at these live dates put them squarely in the vanguard of contemporary doom acts.
Now the band is returning to Europe for a short tour, and to reach even greater hights (and doom depths), Yob will be performing The Unreal Never Lived in full at Roadburn Festival 2011.

How do you describe an album that starts with an explosion, ends with Gregorian chants, and has nothing but genius in between the two? Thats the only problem I have with The Unreal Never Lived, the fourth album from Portland, Oregons YOB. Its left me speechless. While the basic DNA of YOB stays the same epic, dense riffs, otherworldly vocals that can soar to Geddy Lee-like heights and then plummet to a death metal growl, a thunderous rhythm section what theyve grown into has become more detailed and impressive. Whats different about The Unreal Never Lived, as compared to their prior releases, is an increase in dynamics and melody. All of these songs are filled with peaks and valleys, as opposed to a constant, full-on distortion assault, and that makes them that much more memorable and involving. Roadburn is thrilled to report that doom supergroup Shrinebuilder will be part of the 2011 Roadburn Festival lineup. Originally scheduled to perform at this years Roadburn Festival in April 2010, Shrinebuilder ended up stuck in New York due to logistic complications arising from the volcanic eruption in Iceland. Shrinebuilder is now scheduled to play on Saturday, April 16 at the 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland.
With Scott Kelly (Neurosis) and Scott Wino Weinrich (Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, The Hidden Hand and Wino) on guitar, Al Cisneros (OM, Sleep) on bass and Dale Crover (Melvins) on drums, Shrinebuilders self-titled debut full-length (released on Neurot Recordings) is perhaps the most anticipated Roadburn Festival album of the year. Over the past year we have watched the Shrinebuilder buzz rise to fever pitch.
We are truly looking forward to see Kelly, Wino, Cisneros and Crover meld their unique, different styles. When these four musicians get together, catchy canyon-size riffs lead to psychedelic guitar solos; subdued vocals add a mellow touch; and the meandering, groove-laden ambience ultimately creates crushing doom riffage. The sum of the parts is only strengthened by the natural vibe between these musical heavyweights all of whom embody the true spirit of the Roadburn Festival.

Roadburn is also extremely happy to announce that the legendary Canadian avant-metal quartet Voivod will be performing two separate shows at Roadburn 2011 (one in the 013 venue, and one at the Midi Theater). The band have the core line-up of Away, Snake and Blacky, and guitarist Daniel Mongrain who has done an exceptional job filling in for the late, great Piggy. Both shows will be different, so that diehards can look forward to two full sets.
Formed in 1981 by KISS-worshipping French Canadian teenagers Denis Piggy DAmour and Jean-Yves Blacky Thériault, Voivod soon transcended their humble origins and have been on the cutting edge of metal almost ever since first on the extreme edge of raw, bestial thrash, then (astonishingly) just a few years later as technical, progressive metal masterminds, inhabiting a strange sci-fi universe based on the ideas and artwork of the bands resident graphics genius and conceptual visionary, drummer Michel Away Langevin. Originally scheduled to perform at this years Roadburn Festival in April 2010, Shrinebuilder ended up stuck in New York due to logistic complications arising from the volcanic eruption in Iceland. Shrinebuilder is now scheduled to play on Saturday, April 16 at the 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland.
With Scott Kelly (Neurosis) and Scott Wino Weinrich (Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, The Hidden Hand and Wino) on guitar, Al Cisneros (OM, Sleep) on bass and Dale Crover (Melvins) on drums, Shrinebuilders self-titled debut full-length (released on Neurot Recordings) is perhaps the most anticipated Roadburn Festival album of the year. Over the past year we have watched the Shrinebuilder buzz rise to fever pitch.
We are truly looking forward to see Kelly, Wino, Cisneros and Crover meld their unique, different styles. When these four musicians get together, catchy canyon-size riffs lead to psychedelic guitar solos; subdued vocals add a mellow touch; and the meandering, groove-laden ambience ultimately creates crushing doom riffage. The sum of the parts is only strengthened by the natural vibe between these musical heavyweights all of whom embody the true spirit of the Roadburn Festival.

Roadburn is also extremely happy to announce that the legendary Canadian avant-metal quartet Voivod will be performing two separate shows at Roadburn 2011 (one in the 013 venue, and one at the Midi Theater). The band have the core line-up of Away, Snake and Blacky, and guitarist Daniel Mongrain who has done an exceptional job filling in for the late, great Piggy. Both shows will be different, so that diehards can look forward to two full sets.

Afgelopen editie heb ik uiteindelijk helemaal niks gezien in de batcave door die drukte. Gezien de komende line-up wordt het inderdaad toch weer de drukte trotseren volgend jaar.

In addition to the bands previously announced, we are very happy to report that Black Math Horseman will be part of the 2011 festival lineup. Originally scheduled to perform at this years Roadburn Festival in April 2010, Black Math Horseman ended up stuck in LA due to logistic complications arising from the volcanic eruption in Iceland. Black Math Horseman is now scheduled to play on Saturday, April 16 at the 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland.
LA’s Black Math Horseman live somewhere between the psychedelic world of 70′s stoner and contemporary shoegazers which they adorn with touches of goth and post rock to create their mind altering sound.
“The brand of psychedelic post-desert rock Los Angeles foursome Black Math Horseman play has its roots deeply entrenched in the heady vision of what “progressive” has come to mean in this young century; where the term refers more to the general and intellectual consideration a band gives their music, rather than the technical difficulty in playing it. “How much do they think about what they’re doing?” in other words.
“In the case of Black Math Horseman, as best as can be judged on hearing their Tee Pee Records debut, Wyllt, the answer is plenty. The record — aided in its task by a remarkable Scott Reeder (Kyuss, The Obsessed, Goatsnake, etc.) production job — hoists itself upon the mind of the listener and rests easy in the head, hypnotic, until the crests of “Tyrant” flood over whatever landscape it is you want to picture while you’re listening. Dylan Carlson’s seminal drone/avant-Americana outfit Earth have completed their next studio album, entitled Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light 1.
The follow-up to 2008’s The Bees Made Honey In The Lion’s Skull, and the recent A Bureaucratic Desire For Extra-Capsular Extraction reissue, it features another shake-up in the Earth line-up: joining Dylan Carlson and Adrienne Davies on the album is cellist Lori Goldston (Nirvana, David Byrne) and Karl Blau (K Records, Laura Veirs, Microphones) on electric bass. The touring band will feature Carlson, Davies, Goldston, and Angelina Baldoz on bass.
The album is said to draw inspiration from both British folk-rock bands Pentangle and Fairport Convention and the North African Tuareg band Tinariwen. The new material will be more melodically oriented than some of Earth’s previous work, and was recorded at Avast studios, Seattle in April and July 2010, with producer Stuart Hallerman – who notably recorded the band’s Earth 2 album.
Song titles for Angels Of Darkness… include ‘Father Midnight’, ‘Hell’s Winter’, ‘Old Black’, ‘Descent to the Zenith’ and ‘Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light’. The album is set for release in February 2011 via Southern Lord.

Influenced by old school 80s and 90s doom and thrash, Japans Coffins death metal onslaught also shows some heavy and oppressive sludge metal tendencies keeping them somewhere near the doom category, despite the bands occasional upbeat parts or outbursts of speed. Since 1996, Coffins has put out crushing release after release culminating into 2008s Buried Death, a punishing masterpiece of death doom (think Come my Fanatics-era Electric Wizard playing death metal, and you get Coffins).
Also confirmed for the Afterburner are Black Mountain, Dead Meadow, Black Pyramid, Blood Farmers, Dragontears and Gomer Pyle.

Och het maakt inderdaad niet zoveel uit. Alleen geinig contrast dat iedereen zo van die namen uit hun plaat gaat terwijl ik ze hooguit eens voorbij heb zien komen. Maar tegen april is daar vast het nodige verandert en loop ik alleen maar te chagrijnen dat ik iets anders tofs moet missen.

Het is uberhaupt ook geen festival dat per se festivalgangers trekt. De doorsnee Pinkpop/Lowlandsganger heeft er denk ik nooit van gehoord, wat het sfeertje zo fijn maakt op Roadburn, iedereen komt echt voor de muziek of de ervaring, niet om hip op een festival gezien te wordenquote:

Ik sla normaal ook de grote namen over op Roadburn maar Candlemass ga ik, tenzij het te druk is, wel kijken. Voivod is overigens zo'n hele grote naam in NL. Pentragram was een tijd geleden in de 013 erg goed live.
Ik zal wel een snob zijn maar ik ga niet voor de sfeer naar RB. De sfeer is tof maar als er geen goede line-up is dan kom ik niet.

Overigens is het bij Roadburn (of welk festival dan ook) bij mij ook altijd zo dat je met een groepje begint maar al snel sta je allemaal ergens anders te kijken. Grote delen van de festivaldagen loop ik toch vaak alleen rond om bandjes te kijken, en dan raak je soms met mensen aan de praat, soms ook niet. De muziek is sowieso altijd goed dus who cares.
