Gorillaz - Plastic BeachHebben jullie al de nieuwe Gorillaz gecheckt? Juist de niet-hiphop nummers zijn tof, of in ieder geval de nummers die meer zijn dan slechts een beat voor de rappers. White Flag (feat. Bashy, Kano & the National Orchestra for Arabic Music) is bijv. heel leuk.

Wat vinden jullie ervan? Ik las wat comments op sites zoals LastFM, en de meningen lagen verdeeld. Aanvankelijk dacht ik zelf dat het jammer was dat de luchtige sfeervolle nummers er niet waren, maar die zitten op ongeveer de 2e helft van het album. Meer mensen die dat ook dachten zeiden dat het niet zoals de oude Gorillaz stijl is.
Maar wat is de oude Gorillaz stijl? Op het eerste album vind je vooral hiphoppige nummers, met van die 'nintendo' beats. Bliepjes en bloepjes. Demon Days had meer sfeervolle nummers, die ik met Air durf te vergelijken.
Wat ik op Plastic Beach hoor, zijn nummers die in Demon Days, én in Gorillaz passen.
Ik zeg: topalbum.
