Chicago’s Russian Circles will be returning to Europe in support of their latest album Geneva, which has garnered praise from longtime fans and new converts alike. The band’s third LP combines a clean, riffs upfront approach with a blissful pulse and flow, wailing feedback and heart-pounding bass. Featuring borderline military precision, Russian Circles’ sophisticated yet warm take on postrock goes straight to the heart of the music, setting the band apart from many of their peers.

De nieuwe zanger is wel ok maar past qua stijl niet bij de band. Ik wacht wel een jaartje, na een jaartje samenspelen zal het wel een stuk beter klinken.

Pocahaunted en Grouper ken ik wel, van eerstgenoemde heb ik Island Diamonds op het moment op mijn mp3 speler. Ik hoop later nog met de zangeres te kunnen trouwen, wie weet. Ik aas nogsteeds op zo'n Rickenbacker als waar de bassiste op speelt. Grouper is ook tof, vooral Dragging a Dead Deer up a Hill wil ik nog wel eens opzetten.
Maar bovengenoemde zijn natuurlijk meer drone/folk dan stoner inderdaad. Dus om ontopic te blijven: gaan er nog meer mensen Radio Moscow zien in Sliedrecht? 6 Maart, 6 Euro.
