"By the way for anyone that cares or is confused about quotations here , it was actually myself that said that 5a was never relet.
Thats regarded as one of the few facts here and local PJ and GNR say that the only people to have been in it were under cover detectives watching after the McCanns moved out posing as tourists to put the McCanns under a false sence of security making them think that there was no suspicion , the same as when they returned The Renault to them but replaced all the interior of the boot linings with replacement original equipment and sent the real stuff to west midlands uk.
The PJ have been and are very smart but have been beaten by intervention and could not afford to throw money at it indefinately"

Clarrie said that obviously after the appeal at Chrismas - alot more money had come in (and I thought the appeal was for info. to find Madeleine, as least that's what alot of the pros were saying on these boards) Then he suddenly said 'YOU COULD ALSO PUT SOME MONEY IN AN ENVELOPE AND SEND IT TO THE MCCANNS ADDRESS - IT'LL GET THERE!!!!!'

Maar hier is een staatje van de Daily Mail:quote:The short answer to that question is that we don't know.
The Fund's organisers have refused to say how much has been spent but have confirmed that money donated by the public was made available for the family's living expenses.
In October, it was revealed that the Fund had been used to make mortgage payments on the McCanns' family home in Rothley. It is believed that two payments were made but that does not necessarily mean it was only for two months. It could possibly have included an arrears payment. We just don't know because the fund are not prepared to divulge that information.
The Fund has also met legal fees involved in setting up the Limited Company, which does not have charitable status. But the Fund's directors, which includes colleagues, friends and relatives of the McCanns, ruled that they cannot use it to pay the legal team defending them against Portuguese allegations that they were involved in Madeleine's disappearance. That has been met by a separate fund, using donations from wealthy benefactors including Sir Richard Branson.
The salary of the McCanns' spokesman Clarence Mitchell is paid by another millionaire, double-glazing tycoon Brian Kennedy. But Madeleine's Fund has paid for other staff, including former campaign manager Justine McGuinness,
In the weeks after Madeleine's disappearance it paid for her parents' campaign trips to Madrid, Amsterdam, Berlin, Washington DC and the Moroccan capital, Rabat.
It was revealed in September that about £300,000 had been spent, and that up to £80,000 was paid out for a new publicity campaign in Portugal, Spain and Morocco.
Donations have slowed dramatically, however, since the McCanns were made official suspects in the case.
Exact details of where the money has gone is unlikely to be made public for some time. The first accounts are not due until January 2009 and even then it is unlikely they will provide much detail as to how the money has been spent. Fund officials said an administrator had been appointed to ensure "the highest standards of transparency and accountability".
Mr Mitchell said in October: "The Fund exists to support Kate and Gerry where their living costs would become difficult. Gerry is going back to work this week and they hope they will not have to rely on it for their living costs for much longer."
It is also unclear exactly how much money has come into the Fund from donations, merchandise sales and interest. The official findmadeleine.com site carries a running total but this is very rarely updated and currently displays the donations figure only (which is £1,223,629.31 at 08 January 2008).
Incomings:
£1,223,629.31 + merchandise sales + interest
Outgoings:
£300,000 - Setting up the fund/Misc expenses/Promotional
£51,000 - Fees to Justine McGuiness as official spokesperson, based on £350 per day for 89 days (£31,150) + overtime payments and expenses - including bar and restaurant bills (£19,850).
£300,000 - Metodo 3* (based on 6 month contract @ £50,000 per month).
£4,000+ - Mortgage payments + 'living expenses'
£657,000+ Total expenditure
* Note: Spanish television channel Antena 3 claimed, in early December, to have permission from detective agency Metodo 3 to reveal that they were receiving their payment from Brian Kennedy not Madeleine's Fund or anyone else. Clarence Mitchell has made clear statements previously that Metodo 3's bills are being met by the fund.
On 22 December 2007 he is quoted as saying: "We will review Metodo 3’s contract as we would naturally with any contract. It’s an expensive operation but we are pleased with their work. All the directors want is value for money." (Link to quote) Bron

In September they hired the Spanish agency Metodo 3 on a six month contract.
The agency will seek to have that renewed next month, but even if the fund directors agree it is likely to be a shorter term contract because of the financial uncertainty surrounding the fund.
Realistically, if no investment is forthcoming, the McCanns will be forced to call the agency's search to a halt and end their proactive hunt for Madeleine. The stark reality facing them has forced the couple to rethink their PR strategy, and are now looking at offers that have been on the table for eight months, and which they hoped they would never have to consider.
Clarence Mitchell, their official spokesman, said: "In theory by the summer the pot will run dry but we are taking steps to make sure that does not happen. "Hopefully we would have found Madeleine by then." He said private donations from the public were still coming in, and the fund had been boosted by £100,000 following a Christmas appeal.
The couple are considering getting involved in a docudrama with IMG, the makers of the award winning film Touching The Void, but Mr Mitchell said they would only undertake such projects if a donation to the fund was made and if they tackled wider issues and did not concentrate solely on Madeleine's disappearance.
Mr Mitchell said the couple were keen to highlight the lack of a proper co-ordinated response throughout Europe when a child goes missing, as opposed to a system used by America whereby a country-wide alert goes out within minutes of the alarm being raised.
He added: "If, God forbid, Madeleine is never found and the legacy is that no other family has to feel this way, at least some good would have come out of this appalling situation." However, the couple may be hampered because until their status as official suspects in the case is lifted, they are unable to publicly comment on what has happened, and Mr Mitchell said they would not be doing anything until they were formally freed from the investigation, which he admitted could yet be for several years.
The McCanns have agreed to a piece with the magazine Vanity Fair, which has also interviewed Robert Murat, to be published shortly, in an attempt, Mr Mitchell said, to widen awareness of Madeleine’s case in America. The fund's managers have a regular monthly meeting and are due to have one more meeting before Metodo 3's contract runs out, when they will decide whether to renew its contract.
En dat dit: Why the McCanns would be mad to make a film of Madeleine's abductionquote:MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “MADELEINE: THE BIG INTERVIEW”
“Our regret”
“GERRY: I wish we have never gone to the tapas bar”
“KATE: I wish I’d seen the stranger watching us”
“READ THEIR HEARTBREAKING WORDS INSIDE”
Voyeurs, campaigners, police and handwringers come see the pain, the suffering the agony. Prepare to be heartbroken!
“Riddled with guilt, the distraught” Gerry will tell all to the Mirror. Well, not to the Mirror, rather to Vanity Fair magazine. Journalist Judy Bachrach spoke with Gerry in October near the family home in Rothley, Leicestershire
And the interview is not with Gerry and Kate. Only Gerry McCann was interviewed, says the Mail. Kate McCann’s words come via friends and family
Pages 4 and 5: “I WISH”.
It reads very much like a prayer, or a camping speech by Barack Obama. Says Gerry McCann:
“I wish I hadn’t gone to the tapas bar.
“I wish I’d have stayed in the apartment that night
“I wish I’d stayed in the room when I checked on her five minutes longer”
A wish…
Says Gerry McCann: “”At the time we did it, it was not irresponsible. Of course we feel guilty about not having been there and that is just something we have to deal with for the rest of our lives. You are not asking anything we don’t think about on a daily basis. We live this 24 hours a day”
Gerry says his world went “all black, with maybe tiny points of light” in the days after Madeleine vanished. “We can’t cry our eyes out every day because that’s not helping. So after three days I picked myself up…quicker than Kate could. Grief washes over you. It’s like a big wave, mostly I was able to beat it back”
And the Madeleine ‘Look into my eyes’ campaign? Says Gerry: “We thought it was possible this could hurt her. Her abductor might do something to her eye. But in marketing terms it was a good ploy”
THE SUN: “Life’s bleak but I cling to hope”
Says Gerry McCann: “People can support you in your darkest hours and in our case the darkest hour was of course when Madeleine went missing. Now it is just bleak”
In next month’s Vanity Fair: “The interview with Gerry came as it emerged GORDON BROWN has snubbed the McCanns’ request for a meeting; furious Kate EXPLODED when cops first told her she was a suspect; and family spokesman Clarence Mitchell has given a university SPEECH on the topic Missing Maddie McCann — the perfect PR campaign
“A pal of the McCanns said Kate, 39, believes the family were STALKED by Maddie’s kidnapper in the days before she went missing”. WOW
COUPLE hit back on film. Says Clarence Mitchell, the spokesperson: “It is not us being greedy. It is us being needy“
DAILY MAIL: “It’s all my fault, admits Maddie’s father”
Well, not quite. Gerry McCann is making no confession. He maintains that the fault lies with a kidnapper. Says the Mail: “Gerry McCann is tortured by guilt that Madeleine’s disappearance is his fault”
Will he tell all? Mr McCann tells Vanity Fair’s Judy Bachrach: “I can’t talk to you about the details of what happened. I live under threat from the Portuguese - if I do talk - of two years’ imprisonment”
“THIRD POLICE SUSPECT BREAKS HIS SILENCE” – Says Robert Murat to Vanity Fair: “All I can say is that I am innocent”
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE - MOTHER IS SHUNNED BY PRIEST”
Page 9: “KATE’S SCREAMS AS POLICE TOLD HER: YOU’RE A SUSPECT – KATE McCann screamed when told by police that she was a suspect in Madeleine’s disappearance, it emerged yesterday. Opening the door of her rented villa to a Portuguese officer the family had come to know, Kate, 39, shouted: ‘Do you honestly believe that I would murder my own child?’”
Gerry McCann is a “39-year-old cardiologist”. Facts!
On the speculation: “Gerry says bitterly: ‘Yes, yes, I know. Kate killed her in a frenzy, Madeleine was sedated by us, she fell down the stairs – in which case you would have thought they’d have found her body. I’ve heard all of that. There are a huge number of theories in the media. But what I want to know is, who told them all that?’”
DAILY STAR: “Anguished and painfully thin, his wife Kate was too upset to answer even a single question during the interview with glossy US magazine Vanity Fair. Gerry revealed in the 7,500-word magazine article he had to be coaxed by a counsellor into talking publicly about his daughter in the days after she disappeared”
DAILY RECORD: “Maddie’s Dad: Slim Chance Of Getting Her Back”
“Distraught Gerry McCann has admitted the chances of him seeing his missing daughter Madeleine again are ‘slim’”
VANITY FAIR: “Unanswered Prayers”
“After three-year-old Madeleine McCann disappeared on a family vacation in Portugal, her parents pursued a high-stakes strategy: media saturation. It succeeded beyond their wildest imaginings—winning the aid of everyone from J. K. Rowling to the Pope—and failed miserably. Getting the first in-depth interview with Gerry McCann since he and his wife, Kate, were declared suspects, the author re-traces their footsteps to their daughter’s empty bed”
And then a policeman appeared. His name Ricardo. “Because for months they used to have regular weekly meetings with the Portuguese police, and then they stopped,” recalls Gerry’s older sister Trish Cameron
“Do you have something to tell us?” Ricardo asked.
“No,” Kate replied. “Do you have something to tell us?”
“He nodded. “Yes. You are being made arguidos”…
Eight months of talking - read it all…

Madeleine McCann: Gerry McCann Talks With Vanity Fair
Een paar citaten uit het stuk:quote:En dat dit: Why the McCanns would be mad to make a film of Madeleine's abduction
Een vergelijking met de film Lorenzo's Oil: "Sure enough, in 1990, George Miller, the Australian director who went on to make Happy Feet, contacted my father. He wanted to make a Hollywood movie about "Lorenzo's Oil", as my parents had called the oil they'd developed."
En wat moeten we hier van denken?quote:In a startling new development, a witness has come forward with a photograph of a man she says she saw acting suspiciously on the night of May 3, outside what she claims to be the McCann's apartment.
The witness - a consultant phycologist whose credibility was proved by an estate agent valuing her home at $900,000, said she is, "100 per cent certain" the man she saw was Murat.
When 'i On Global Trends' asked her if there was anything distinctive about the man, she said she didn't notice anything out of the ordinary apart from the fact he had a funny eye - "look, you can see it quite clearly" she said pointing to the back of the man's head.
When asked, "Didn't you think a man clambering into a bedroom dressed in a red suit and red hat in May, looked suspicious?" she replied, "You don't move in the same circles as I do, do you sweet cheeks?"
The woman dressed in a, "I was rejected by the Aussie Blogger" T shirt, (available in my online store) explained that it had taken her eight months to approach the Manuel Smart Detective Agency with the photograph, because it wasn't her turn.
The witness who wants to avoid publicity and doesn't want her name in print unless it's on a cheque, told Hello, The Sun, CNN, The Daily Mail, Daily Express, The Beano, and Jackanory, that she did not know the McCanns personally, as she only belongs to the same golf club, attends the same parties and Gerry works with her dad.
