De WGA heeft hun claim voor 8ct per DVD laten vallen dus waar het nu enkel om draait is een vergoeding voor online content (films en series die online worden vertoond en op mobieltjes etc). Zodra dat rond is gaat iedereen weer aan het werk... En hopelijk is dat snel.

Saturday Night Live etc worden hier ook door beinvloed en dat is weer zo'n mega publiekstrekker. En straks treft het ook de series en films. Maarja, aan de andere kant heb je ook gelijk dat ze niet snel zullen toegeven aangezien ergens mid 2008 de agreements met de Actors Guild etc ook aflopen en die kunnen dan straks gaan eisen wat ze willen als de studios nu met de Writers Guild instemmen.
Dus een nogal lame situatie, maar zoals ik al zei: hopelijk (met nadruk daarop) zal het snel voorbij zijn, but time will tell I guess

De schrijvers lieten vervolgens hun DVD-claim vallen, maar de producers weigerden zich vervolgens aan hun belofte te houden waardoor de DVD-claim nu weer op tafel ligt.

Maar inderdaad, dat wordt dan volgend seizoen.
Ik denk trouwens niet dat volgend tv-seizoen 48 uur 24 gaat krijgen als de staking meer dan een maand duurt, die schrijvers moeten ook een keer vakantie.
Ik ben nu wel benieuwd of er in Kiefers contract staat 'nog 2 volwaardige seizoen' of 'tot 2009'. Dat laatste zou wel erg zuur zijn

Ik zag net de WGA protesteren bij het Sony Pictures gebouw hier Eerlijk gezegd, sommigen leken net een stel zwervers met borden... Die gasten hebben dus echt geen cent te makken...

Het is zojuist officieel geworden, FOX heeft bekend gemaakt seizoen 7 van 24 uit te stellen om een non-stop seizoen hopen te kunnen blijven garanderen.

Dat hangt helemaal er vanaf hoelang de staking duurt. Als het een maandje duurt kunnen ze misschien in febuari alsnog beginnen en dan wat meer 2-hour episodes uitzenden.
Als het langer duurt dan is het niet waarschijnlijk dat ze in de zomer gaan uitzenden dus dan wordt het september, minimaal.
En van wat ik heb begrepen ziet het er niet goed uit, schrijvers en de vakbonden liggen nog erg ver uit elkaar.

Gisteren trouwens weer 3 afleveringen van Seizoen 2 gekeken!
Damn ik zat echt met tranen in m'n ogen toen Jack aan Kim vertelde dat hij met het vliegtuig de kernbom laat neerstorten en dus doodgaat (Ik weet uiteraard wel dat dat niet gebuert, maar toch!) Tis zo sterk gespeeld en de muziek erachter is geweldig!

Allereerst, info over een memo naar de 24 crew waarin staat dat als de staking in december nog duurt seizoen 7 helemaal geannuleerd zal worden. Ze kunnen ook niet verder filmen omdat één van de main actors niet op komt dagen vanwege de staking (ze hoort erbij oid).

En dan een nieuwe toevoeging aan de cast, actrice Marlene Forte krijgt een terugkerende rol.

The first thing that will happen is that this upcoming season will be canceled..!!
Although the show is already in production for the 8th hour (episode), a show like 24 can not endure an extended break since all 24 hours run in order with out any repeats. If the strike were to continue pass a certain point that would cause a break in the show, then the network will not run the first 8-9 episodes at all. Which means that we would have to just wait until 2008 fall or possibly 2009...for this season to run...!?
The crew was also informed that if the season was canceled that they would all be let go...!!
Compounding the problem is that one of the lead actresses for the upcoming season is currently on the picket lines with the WGA and has not shown up to film her scenes. Thus, even the episodes that have been written pretty much can not be filmed unless there is a change in the story line for this season.
According to sources the actress on the picket line with the writers is Janeane Garofalo...so at this moment it seems the network is unsure how to proceed with filming if she does not show up to the set.
