De
BBC kopt een aantal kranten:'In the dark' The
Daily Mirror is one of several papers claiming to know of developments in the Madeleine McCann case. It says the DNA of a possible new suspect has been found among samples taken from the family's holiday apartment.
The
Daily Express, meanwhile, says the test results are expected to show that Madeline died in the room where she was staying in Praia da Luz, Portugal.
And the
Daily Star says Madeleine's parents are angry at being "kept in the dark" about developments in teh case.
Heb het idee dat een doorbraak voor de deur staat alhoewel de Lab-testen nog steeds doorgaan. Sky-news komt met het soberste verhaal: "The parents of missing Madeleine McCann are waiting to find out whether forensic results returned to police will shed new light on what may have happened to their daughter.News crime correspondent Martin Brunt has learned that vital clues from the test results are expected to lead to a significant development.
Experts at the Forensic Science Service (FSS) in Birmingham have spent the past month analysing samples taken from the McCanns' holiday apartment in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz. The evidence recovered from the flat includes blood flecks found by British sniffer dogs on the wall in Madeleine's bedroom, where she vanished on May 3.
A source confirmed yesterday that information gathered by the FSS had been "regularly fed back" to investigators in Portugal, although the official line remains that tests are "ongoing". An FSS spokeswoman would not comment on the specifics of the case, but said: "There has been a lot of speculation. The tests are ongoing.
"There has been no change in that, despite what the reports say. It's a live investigation and we are working with the police." Samples were taken from this resortThe McCanns spokesperson said: "The Portuguese police have not phoned Kate and Gerry, and have not told them about the test results."
"We will await official confirmation as we do for any story." It is understood that the news was "unexpected" for the couple, although they have been awaiting the test results for many weeks."
"The forensic tests are continuing, but police here [in Britain] are giving the Portuguese regular updates and some results have been passed on," said one person close to the investigation."
